My Life in Ten Years
My Life in Ten Years

I’m a simple girl with oh-so big dreams. Believing that if you dream, you must dream big and make it happen. Maybe it was chance that brought me here, sitting inside this four-cornered room, balancing the balance sheet, learning financial statements and computing assets and liabilities. But it was choice that leads me into dreaming and aiming to make that dream come true. Who never wants to have a promise of a wonderful life? And like he other children who wants to fulfill their parent’s dream—a good future for heir child—I’m also one of them.

Ten years from now, I already got my Bachelor’s degree and I’m already a licensed Certified Public Accountant. I worked as an independent accountant in an accounting firm for two years. I passed the civil service exam when I decided to work professionally as an external auditor for the government for almost four years. That is when I decided to put up my own business. After another four years, I achieved my fulfillment on being a successful career woman, running a business of my own. The business grows, it gains profit until it’s enough for me to build my dream house. Enough for me, my mama, papa, brother and sister to live. I made my brother and sister finish their studies. I don’t decide on having my own family yet. I’m happy traveling all around the globe, with my soul sisters whom I‘m sharing the same dreams. I wanted to explore more thoroughly the different aspect of life until such time that I will meet and marry the man that God destined for me to be with and build our own

On the day of June 12, 2005 at the University of Stanford, a speech was given by one of the most successful entrepreneurs of our time, Steve Jobs. His words were truly inspiring and very effective at what he was trying to convey. And that was to pursue the dream or goal that you would want to achieve, and to silence those who say you can’t or it’s not possible. He had very much to say, but was it all necessary. That leaves you to decide.…

The idea that an individual is capable of reaching any dream that they wish for, so long as they strive to the best of their ability, is one commonly shared. Parents are known to encourage their children by sharing the concept that by working hard you can achieve anything. However, an individual is not necessarily capable of achieving any goal they wish; we have all been limited as human beings and have a certain capacity to achieve. Through the wide collection of stories and accounts in ‘Inquiry: Questioning, Reading, Writing’ by Bloom, White and Borrowman and other supporting texts, it is evident that hard work does not enable an individual to be anything they want to be.…

“We must stop talking about the American dream and and start listening to the dreams of Americans” said Max Beerbohm. His words are true because every American’s dream is different. Some dream about becoming rich and some dream about getting out of poverty, some dream about investing in a big business and some dream about finding a job. America needs to fulfill all these types of dreams but the possibility of the American dream today depends on several factors that one may or may not have control over, which makes the dream possible for some and not possible for others.…

Former successful Olympian, Gail Devers, once said “Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication” (Gail Devers, Brainy Quotes). Dever’s words resonate as she inspires those who usually let obstacles keep them from chasing their dreams. As children with an overactive imagination, nothing seems out of reach. Somehow, as we grow older, we begin to notice our strengths and weaknesses and we end up letting go of our old dreams and moving on. Growing up, I fanaticized over what I would do as an adult. Those fantasies ranged from a world-famous pop star to President of the United States. Through all those times of make-believe speeches and singing into a hairbrush, one of my…

“Work hard, dream big, do the impossible, and fly to the stars.” These are the words I always heard from my Father when I was growing up. From time to time, I face challenges, ones that would literally make me break down and cry. As I sob to my last tears, my father’s voice would echo through my mind, a distant voice from the past, that would propel me to run after the invisible silhouette in front of me. “No moment should be wasted, and I should live my life to the fullest,” I whispered.…

To whom it concerns I sit here and can’t help but to think about the many things that I strive to accomplish in my lifetime. Such thoughts as how and where this life is going to take me enter my mind. I believe it is absolutely essential for one to maintain a constant level of productivity in order to for life to run its intended course. For me this productivity will be achieved only through a series of well defined goals. For organizational purposes, I have correlated the goals I expect to fulfill into seven primary categories which are: education and career, health, spirituality, family, productivity, adventure, and material things. Although these goals will server their purpose as a type of road map of which path I should follow, true happiness is found in the spontaneity along the way. I personally believe a well developed education should come first that’s why I signed up for Excel High to get my diploma. It serves as a foundation for almost everything that one will experience in life. My more immediate goals are those that pertain to my education weather formal or informal. Although I am still in the process of building my life, my one goal is to get an associate degree in Business management a start a clothing store with my older sister who has a fashion degree from State University of New York at Canton. So that’s one major achievement of many that I plan on working towards accomplishing in my…

At some point and time in life, everybody has an epiphany. I like to call epiphanies “aha” moments or a moment when you figure something out and it changes your life and the way you view things. I am sure over the years, I have had plenty of epiphanies, like discovering my fingers and toes as a baby or learning how to ride a bike, but the only epiphany that sticks with me is the one that I had the summer before my senior year of high school. When I was little the future was so far away. I did not really care about what I wanted to be when I grew up.…
