My Legacy Is Important To Me
Imagine… a ninety four year old man, resting in a chair on an oak wood porch at a beach house near the ocean. As he hears the seagulls cry and the salt water spray on his face, he wonders what legacy he will leave behind. Personally, he believes a legacy is what memories a person will leave behind. Additionally, a legacy is what people will think of a person once he or she has “passed on”. Will I be known as a friendly boss or employee? A well-behaved student? An exceptional friend? Near the end of my life, I wish to be a successful man. In addition, I would love to obtain an even more honorable legacy.
To start off, if I were to leave an extraordinary legacy, I would have definitely shown kindness and respect to himself, as well as all the people in my life. My family and teachers would be proud of how far I have come. To add on, my friends will have touched my life, as I would have touched theirs. Plus, having

To me success is knowing that I have worked the hardest I could on my goals and I have succeeded in protecting my values. According to myself, my family is by far my most important value. As long as they are a part of myself I can do anything. I value my friends, family, pets, and a strong work ethic.
In summation, as a ninety four year man I have enough wisdom to describe to the youth that your impact on the world is an imperative matter. Throughout this essay, I have described what my legacy was. Furthermore, I believe it is essential to use your best wisdom when pondering the idea of your values, goals, and effects on people. As several people consider what legacy they want I, (a senior) will ask them, “What do you think is vital to an everlasting remembrance?”. It is important to map out your legacy, do not just “dive into” your life. Map you journey out through your goals and values with help from others.

Albert Pike once said, “What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.” Though Pike held many disagreeable views, this one is quite valuable. Many young people of this time express a deep, internal desire to be remembered. Our most popular literature depicts heroes born out of mundane insignificance. We all feel as if we are the collective underdog with a fiery passion and a fear of oblivion. The strive has not been to be satisfied with the world handed to us, but to cause great change for the good and well being of ourselves, our neighbors, and our future. Most alluring is the strategy for achieving this goal, for it has not been to lift ourselves up with pomposity and…

What is success? By definition it is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose or the attainment of popularity or profit, but is that how we really measure success. Or do we measure it by our happiness and self-content? When I was younger my mother used to ask me “what is being successful”, my reaction was near instant, as if it was a reflex. I quickly said “having more money than you can count!” She would always just smirk and pat my head. I always bothered me how she would ask me the same question over and over again knowing that she is going to receive the same answer.…

I have lived my life by the Abraham Lincoln quote, “In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. A great deal of people define success as living a life of luxury with brand new expensive vehicles, a big beautiful home and so much money you couldn’t possibly spend it in this lifetime. I’m not one of those persons. I can define success in one word; stability. When you reach a point in your life where all your bills are paid, you have a roof over your head, even if it’s just a small studio apartment, and you’re not worried about where your next meal will come from, I believe you have become successful.…

Continuing to do my daily routine, on a Saturday afternoon, my father would devote to me, by sitting me down in front of the old picture frame that reminisced the treasures of his coworkers and his accomplishments. He would preach to me the benefits of what it means to be someone in the world, that is able to make a difference, one step at a time. Later, as I grew older and Universities or College took on greater meaning, my father and uncle, both alumni of the University of North Texas, took me to see their old stamping grounds. From first sight, the university looked frightening because of its size, but with such a large school comes diversity of people and of academic and non-academic events.…

To be successful is to be content and happy with one's self. Society leads us to believe that having the best latest luxuries that life offers is the meaning of being successful. Let's face it, who does not like to have a new car, the latest fashions and technology, and the finest house. Does having all these material things make one successful? Everyone wants to be successful. It is not something that is gained overnight. It is accomplishing something one worked so hard to achieve. The meaning of being successful will differ from one person to the next. One of my ideas of success is being financially stable. Another person's idea of success might be to become cancer free.
