My Heritage: The Important Side Of Your Heritage
“A keen sense of your heritage will help you to understand, in part, just who you are,” says the article titled Why Your Heritage is Important. Is something passed down from generation to generation but is also something that is constantly being updated and changed. When I say ‘my family’ I am mainly referring to my moms side because I don’t have a lot of connections with my dads side of the family. My moms side of the family is a very closely knit group that is full of hard times and the best times of my life and is always changing, but one thing that I can count on is there support, there hard work and there never ending kindness. That is one thing that the world really need and has a very small amount of. This might be true for the world but this is the exact opposite when it comes to my family. This Christmas I was so lucky to have the chance to spend it with my Aunt Tiffany and Uncle Scott, who aren’t really my aunt and uncle, but they are so close to me and my family that we have, in a way, chosen to “adopt” them in. I treat both of them as if we shared the same blood, they mean just as much to me as anyone else in my family. My family is hardly bound by blood and more by kindness and the willingness to accept those who don’t have as good of a family as I do and that’s what makes up the shape of my family today. Some advice that my grandma gave me during her interview was “Stay family oriented, be strong and always be open and honest with my mom.” I have always taken her words to heart and I especially took these ones during the interview, She has had such a rough past but through all the kindness that she gave and the hard work that she did my grandma ended up with everything she ever wanted and more. Having kindness as a family value has really helped me overcome bullying and has helped me connect in a deeper way with my family and my peers. I will never stop being kind to others around me no matter what might happen, the value of kindness is one thing that my family has passed down to me and is something that I will never give up
