My Goals For College
After deciding Marywood was the school for me, I had several small goals set to be accomplished. Hurdling over the steps of packing, purchasing textbooks, and saying goodbye to friends and family seemed hard enough; however, now that I have completed the first overwhelming strides of moving into college, I am ready to take on the much bigger challenge of completing my education and obtaining my master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. My goal as a college freshman at Marywood University is to graduate as a well-rounded individual while achieving as close to a 4.0 grade point average as possible. The core values of Marywood such as excellence, empowerment, and service will be important factors in the achievement of my goal. Excellence is defined as the quality of being outstanding. In order to maintain a 4.0 grade point average, I will need to display excellency in my academics. There is a famous saying, “success is not a destination, rather a journey of hard work.” In order to achieve excellency in my overall goal, I will need to display greatness in each individual task I encounter with diligent effort. To be excellent means to show pride in my work and to be representative of my individual high standards. No matter the task, whether large or small, my goal is to be committed to achieving greatness in everything I do, especially within …show more content…
By being a student who displays these qualities, it will allow the achievement of my goal to be more attainable. Looking back just a few weeks ago before moving into the dorms here at Marywood, it’s amazing to see how many minute goals I have already achieved. I hope to be able to achieve my goal of being a well-rounded, academically superior student just as fervently. With plenty of hard work and with the core values of Marywood in mind, I am optimistic about my future

There are several fundamental reasons why students all over the world choose to pursue higher education: to broaden their knowledge base, to achieve financial independence, and to be a part of an environment that fosters personal growth. I am currently a second-year student at Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA), and I spent my first year of post-secondary education at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC). Gradually, I started to show more interest for my academics-- which taught me to become a leader not only to myself, but also to my family and peers. My commitment towards leadership and service to be a more positive difference-maker was brought up…
