They are committed to promoting the development and growth of their members. Competitors of the Boys and Girls Club are other after school programs such as the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA), which, despite the name allows all sexes and religions, and other local youth centers. Supervision is a relationship between two people, one of who has the purpose of using it to improve his work with someone in his or her life and the other who has the purpose of helping him or her to do this In your managerial role the purpose of supervision is to see that the member of staff is able to carry out their role effectively and is working to the expected standards. Thirty of those fifty service hours are a mandatory aspect of the junior year curriculum and must involve work with either the poor or marginalized. Personally, I chose to complete my necessary hours with the organization Outdoors for All, specifically working with the marginalized. Outdoors for All (OFA) strives to enrich the quality of life for children and adults with disabilities through outdoor recreation by offering programs just as skiing, kayaking, and biking. I participated in their downhill ski program, teaching lessons to people ranging from four to thirty-five years old with a vast array of both mental and physical disabilities. Volunteering with OFA improved not only my teaching skills but my ability to work with all people regardless of their…
. support for pupils: In daily class life I am required to implement structured learning activities and supervise and assist a student or a group of students in completing their tasks. It is also required that I undertake activities in assisting in monitoring the personal, social and emotional needs of a pupil, and to also develop a positive relationship with the pupils. Helping a pupil to reach their individual targets and monitoring their progress the main role I have is to ensure pupils remain on task and then report the progress to the teacher. Offering support and understanding to those who are upset and helping pupils to learn through play. It is important that class rooms are kept tidy so that the pupils have a pleasant environment to work in so that is one of the important roles that is followed strictly.…
Along the same lines of Big Brother Big Sister is a club that I am proud to call myself President of Key Club. Over the last two years I have put my entire life into marking a difference in my home town. I have completed over hundred hours of community service and paperwork to show my town that I appreciate it. My jobs is to take this group of leaders…
Lastly, let’s talk about Stephanie Braden from Austin HS, let’s start with how she organizes her year. She organizes her year easy for football and contest season, her football season is short and she usually finishes contest either the end of February first weekend in March. She holds tryouts in March to start practicing with her new team as they do a dance in Spring Show to make their debut to the high school. One thing that I don’t agree with her on is the date party that they hold. I don’t really agree with this because a lot can go wrong with this like alcohol and would be much easier to save money and hold a nice banquet. Lastly, one thing that really resonated with me was that this job is a job of sacrifice and dealing with all types…
For five years, I volunteered for Good Girls Rock located in Statesville, NC and Mooresville, NC. This organization promotes positivity and provides encouragement among teenage girls who have self-esteem issues, or dealing with peer pressure and some form of bullying in school. Additionally, the organization provides mentors to helped these young women lead sophisticated lives and some one they can talk to as they present their issues in confident without worrying about being judge or looked down upon. The organization does a lot to help the…
For instance, weather, traffic, safety, noise, and a number more other aspects. It is therefore important to choose a location that is convenient and accessible to all participants. As a facilitator it is necessary to arrive well in advance to set up the facility and make the necessary preparations. Community centers, churches, libraries and other public places can be considered which is either free to use or can be used at a lower cost. Consider the size of the group when selecting a location for the facilitation. Ensure that the location has sufficient space for the entire group, has adequate bathrooms available for the number of participants and is free from excessive noises. Always consider safety when deciding on a venue as it is important for the participants to physically and mentally feel…
One example of helping people around me was as captain for this year’s Park Girls Varsity soccer team. In my role, I had to help motivate the team, and help to build and fuel team spirit – both things that I really enjoyed. In addition, I have also been focused on helping my community. A few years ago when my Dad and I took a trip to India, I was able to help out at a school that my grandfather had started and work with the students in their classes. This experience inspired me to find ways to give back here in several different ways, both big and small. In sixth grade, I ran to be a representative on the Park School Service Council. I have continued in this role for the past two years, and this year, I was elected by my classmates to be a co-Head. This fall, I led an effort where the school made placemats for the residents of the Pine Street Inn, a homeless shelter in Boston, for Thanksgiving. What I loved most about this effort was it allowed all the grades to be involved, and for kids to do something more hands-on rather than just give a donation. And while it was a small gesture, the Pine Street Inn staff shared that it had a meaningful…
I was a volunteer for the YMCA at Underwood Elementary School. Here, I tutored students in a variety of subjects at an after school program, Y Learning. My role was to assist students to reach school-system benchmarks and to develop their confidence inside and outside of the classroom. I collaborated and communicated with both staff and students to achieve our goals. Through talking with students, I was able to learn how to best give them individualized assistance in order for them to…
Serving Sheboygan has always been one of my priorities. Although I have a seemingly short list of community service activities, my extracurricular activities have truly tied me closer to our community. To begin, I have long demonstrated the Lions philosophy of WE SERVE. Extracurricular involvement has historically ignited my service. As an energetic young student I participated greatly in student council, LUCK (Choir) and girl scouts; operating car washes, salvation army bell ringing, bingo and caroling at nursing homes.…

Girl Scouts all across the world are affecting the planet and living beings on it in a positive way; even though they are helping other people they impact their own individual self. In the past 100 years, scouts have the determination to discover who they want to be in life, and what they want to do. In activities, such as camp and earning badges girls learn all kinds of professional…
