MY FUTURE IN CHILDHOOD EDUCATION 1
March 24, 2014
MY FUTURE IN CHILDHOOD EDUCATION 2 I decided to become an early childhood teacher, because I love working with young children. Don’t get me wrong the older children are good, but at this age some of them are grown and you can’t tell them what to do. On the other hand young children brighten your day know matter what they are going through. At this age they don’t have many problems in there life. They are eager to learn what you have out for them and what you have to teach them. The young children make me have the energy to want to teach them. I would go to work and have no energy and see them and have all the energy in the world. Well the interview that I conduct in week three this was the best thing I could have done. I learn what it takes to be a teacher and what it take in the classroom. I know it’s important to have all the materials you need for the classroom. Sometime it takes you to buy the materials you need to help the children learn. It takes all and everything you need for the children. It also made me realize why I want to become a teacher. I already knew what it take to be a teacher. I knew that I need a Bachelor’s Degree in Early childhood. But, a degree isn’t all you have to bring to the table when you want to become a teacher. They why I started on my Associate it one step in the degree process for me. I have a background to that can help me with getting my Associate degree. So, that why it was so easy to get through the class. But, teaching something new help me out to. Like learning the different between the learning base and center base teaching stragties. I would have never knew the different between these two. I also found out the learning style for me which was intrapersonal which means. It is “people with interpersonal intelligence are good with people and thrive in social interactions. They are good at reading, empathize and MY FUTURE IN CHILDHOOD EDUCATION 3 understands others. They are good at working with others and have many friends”. (Interpersonal, n.p) I thought that I was a music learner, but I found out I was not. I like to teach music. I think that children learn thought music. I think that if they can catch on to the music that their parent listen to and could say all the words. Then if you let them listen to a book or the number being song to them they would catch on to them. I work as a teacher assistant so I know what it takes to work in a classroom. So, I know what it takes I used to help the teacher out when they need help. I would take over the class when the teacher was absent and when she was doing something else in the classroom with another child. The children at this age you have to keep them busy and keep them moving. While I was working at Head Start I learn to set up the classroom into centers. They also taught me how to watch out for the well-being of the child. I really don’t understand why we use the curriculum until now. I understand the creative curriculum more now than before. The creative curriculum helps you to set up the classroom for the theme of the week or month. It also gives your ideas on what you can put in centers and what activities to learn the alphabets or numbers. It also gives you on experience on health and science these is good curriculum to work with in your classroom. The other part of the interview is that they have interaction with the parents. Working with parents is the best thing in a child’s future. Parents are a big part of children lives and having them apart of it is important. I especially like when we would get the fathers involve in the children school work that really enjoyed it. The fathers were more...
