My First Baseball Games
At my first baseball game I was really nervous. I was playing with kids who had already been playing for a year. I didn't have as much experience as the other kids. But luckily I got a hit. My mom and myself were so proud. Later on in the inning I soon came around the bases to score. Finally my team won and we had cupcakes to celebrate.

When the first game came I was extremely happy yet nervous also. We ended up winning the game by the score of three runs to two although I did not get to bat at all and was put in only for two innings of defense. I was disappointed that I did not get to play much but I was happy with the win. Our second game was the next day and I hoped to get more playing time then. When that day came it turned out that we were playing an extremely skilled team. We were losing three to one in the last inning and I still hadn’t played at all the whole game. One of my friends hit a double and then another one of my teammates hit a single to knock him in to score. The score was now three to two and we had a chance to come back. My coach then decided that we needed someone faster on the bases so he called for a…

My dad was in the United States Air Force for 20 years. I was born in England. After being there for a three years my father was stationed in Florida. While in Florida, I remember playing soccer as a child. The team I played for ended up and playing at the city championship game. I was only seven years old then. When I turned eight my father was again sent to Japan. While in Japan, I played baseball for two different teams. The one team I played for was for little league only when we played fellow American teams. The other team I played for we traveled all over Japan playing Japanese children. It was a lot of fun playing against other cultures and learning about them and their sportsmanship. The first time I played against them, I never saw a curve ball thrown before. Not only did I have to learn how to play baseball, but I also learned good…

I remember as a kid I was not so great at baseball. I remember the long games I used to have with terrible at bats and the long outings I used to have as a pitcher. No matter how bad I did though all the parents would cheer and tell me good job but deep down I knew that I did terrible. I honestly laugh at myself when I think of how bad I was at baseball. Just thinking of how I used to be so nervous when I came up…

I remember my first day stepping onto the field. It was freshmen year and I had heard about the team through a friend. I was not so sure about joining the team at first because it has been a while since I played. At this time I was cheerleading for Chargers, CFA All Star Team and Coral Glades squad. However, I saw softball as a great opportunity to meet new people and try something new. That was the best decision I made in high school. As soon as I stepped onto that field I was welcomed with open arms! I made so many new friends through softball. They have helped me build the skills I needed to excel. Being on a team where everyone can get along and help each other is honestly the best feeling ever.…

For a majority of my childhood, the sport of baseball was the one activity I loved above anything else. Nothing could compare to the exhilarating freedom and satisfaction of bolting full speed around the bases, determined to steal, beating the "Throwdown" by a fraction of a second. The massive dust cloud kicked up by my cleats and the thunderous boom of the umpire shouting, "Safe!" made me feel empowered.…

I got to my team's field and saw the perfectly chalked batter's box and baselines. I went into to the dugout and saw the lineup and I was batting first! I had the same excitement in this moment as I do every time I get a king size crunch bar on Halloween. I started to warm up and I felt good. Game Time was coming up but it felt like forever. I was getting the feeling that you get when you put a hot pocket in the microwave and your are waiting for that very very long minute. The ump told us to go to the dugouts and we knew it was game time. I got my helmet and batting gloves on and grabbed my bat. I took a couple swings in the on deck circle then I stepped into the batter's box. I swung at the first pitch and heard a sweet pop off my bat and watched my line drive hit land in front of the centerfield man and I was on first base with a leadoff single. All the nervous energy I had was…

It was a hot summer day in August of 2014. I was nervous about the game but also cocky at the same time. We showed up at the opponent's school and started our warm-ups. Before I knew it, we were lining up for kickoff. Our opponents would be receiving the ball first. The referee blew the whistle and the game was underway. As sweat rolled down…
