I had just signed up for MBSEF. About ¾ the way into the season I got to ski with all of the older kids. And they were doing backflips on this jump up on summit. So me the “smart” 10 year old had the great idea to try my first backflip. So everyone was giving me tips on what to do and they were all encouraging me. So I dropped into the jump I hit it set backwards and went upside down and landed straight on my head :) it was very funny I didn't get hurt which was good. So the next run I went right to that same jump and tried again this time I over rotated and did 1 ½

It was about 10:00 and it was time for our free period when we were allowed to go down the slides, the diving boards, or just swim on our own. Three of my buddies said they were going to go off the high dive, I was too shy to speak up about being afraid. I knew it was too little too late now I had to face my fears and just jump. We got in line, and it was as if I was in a trans just staring at everyone climb up the ladder and without hesitation jump and plunge into the icy water. Before I knew it I was on deck and I could feel stomach churning a little bit, as if on cue I heard the splash of Sam and knew it was my turn. I grabbed the metal bars and slowly made my way to the top, I felt like I was a mile off the…

It was the middle of the summer and I was playing baseball in Jackson, Mississippi. I was playing for the Goodlettsville All-Stars. We were playing in the little league 10u world series. To get to the championship we had to win 8 games and it was single elimination. We had won 7 out of 8 games and we were playing our 8th game and it was the bottom of the third and I was playing left field. In the second inning I was felling drowsy so my dad gave me a Snickers and a Red Bull. I was for sure not drowsy anymore. I could feel the sugar rushing through my veins and I was on the balls of my feet waiting for the pitch to be thrown. When my pitcher threw the ball I had my hand in my glove ready for the ball if it was hit to me. WHAM! The ball was hit so far up in the air it looked like it hit the sun. When I realized that the ball was coming to me I was way too far back so I had to run as fast as I could and dive for the ball. I jumped as far as I could and stretched as far as I could. I barely caught it by snow coning the ball. Everybody was so proud of me that the screamed as loud as they could. We went on to win the game 4-1. The next day I woke up, jumped out of the bed, and put my uniform on. I was so excited, I was in the championship! I…

We had a lot of practices in December to get ready for games in January. I was really nervous for our first game. Our first game was supposed to be right after christmas break ended, but we had a snow day so it was cancelled. I wished it hadn’t been so I could just get it over with, but i was gonna have to wait. We were scheduled for another game later that week. I woke up with a phone ringing and an answering machine saying that school was cancelled due to boiler issues. The proudest moment in my high school career is when I signed myself to take my first AP class. I was really nervous about going to the meeting to sign myself up to get the summer assignment because I felt that I was not ready for the work load, and I would not be able to pass the class. My excuse for not going to the meeting was that I was helping in the cafeteria and I was going to be really late, but when I told my two best friends Jenny and Virginia that I wasn't going to take it anymore. They got so frustrated and annoyed with me because they said I was stupid if I didn’t take AP calculus because that was my favorite subject and I needed a challenge in that class. They also made me remember when I would tell them that Math Analysis was…

When I was in seventh grade I decided to join hockey. I had never stepped on ice or touched a hockey stick before in my life. I arrived at the arena on the first day of practice with a heart full of mixed emotions. Naturally, I was extremely scared of the unknown, but I was also extremely excited to try this new sport. I was missing most of the necessary equipment because neither I or my parents knew what I needed. The coach was able to borrow me some equipment from the association. I spent the next three months repeatedly skating in between the blue lines every practice, learning how to skate. I fell and hurt myself more time than I can remember, but I improved a lot. The only thing that kept me going was watching the other kids effortlessly skating past me, I wanted to be like them. Every small achievement made me try harder each day.…
