My Family Reputation (ADHD)
Jeremy,

If you want to hear about the best, “person placement” yet. You are both my locked screen and home screen (different pictures obviously). Nobody knows the passcode but you, perhaps Lisa she saw me set it. All the women were sitting around the kitchen with grandma. They needed to see the rose cake Brenda made for Mikes mom.. I handed them my phone and purposefully let it stay in there a long time… knowing they’d all see you!

I read an interesting website when I realized I did have ADHD! It discussed, “family reputation” and how they all have to change it. Basically to ensure the person with the, “disorder” knows they are there to support and not hurt them. I believe this is what everyone has done. Plus, after a few emails from me I think they know I’d kick anyone in the face at this point that got in my way of you. Also that they saw how I was… I was unable to, “deal” because of the impressions and what I’d always heard growing up. Again the mind is the most powerful muscle, however if its trapped in a box, knowing what the heart wants… it becomes toxic. You are my heart. I doubt anyone I know has gone in such a big circle like we have… most “settle”. Which is sad.. probably why the divorce rate is so high and kids grow up not knowing what family values are or the American Dream (now its to survive

For example, if we were married obviously we’d share your last name (Jeremy Reppert doesn’t sound good) and it would clear any questionable assumptions. The clinic would know I am half the boss... Yet, I guarantee you I’d sit at the front desk if I needed to until we found a suitable person that needed the job, who I’d obviously have to interview too. Regardless I’d know how to do every aspect of running the clinic (except direct patient care… that’s why you hire the best) simply because that’s what a good leader does... like you, Georgia, Leo and any other leader that doesn’t have their head up their own

All three of my children have ADD to some extent and through the help of a therapist, I have learned how to help them the best that I can. Often in sessions my therapist would tell me that I am expecting too much of myself. He would tell me that I need to take things one at a time and accept that I was trying my best. He then told me that all I had to do was be a “good-enough mom” not a “super-mom”, and that he felt that I definitely was doing all the things to be a good-enough mom. I took what he said to heart, and at the time, had my own mother there to confirm that I really was doing a great job. I do feel that I also have her and my father to thank for that because my parents never made me feel that I had to be perfect. They always supported me and made me feel that as long as I did the best that I could, that is what mattered. Now, after studying Donald Winnicott, I can understand where my therapist was coming from. I am a “good-enough mom” and for my children, that is exactly what they need for their future…

What do you know about ADD or ADHD? How can ADD/ADHD affect a student if they are not treated in time? "Attention deficit disorder (ADD) and Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are condition listed as developmental disorder in the classification manual for psychiatric, psychological, and mental disorder." (Steinberg & Othmer 2) When people hear about ADD/ADHD they assume that only kids and teens have this problem, but there have been some cases that this diagnosis has been found when someone reaches adulthood. ADD/ADHD today is a really common disorder; on average 2 out of 20 adult students have ADD/ADHD and they do not know they have it. If this diagnosis is not treated at a young age, people that have ADD/ADHD and who are not aware they have it can struggle a lot, especially when they get into college.…

I struggle with my undiagnosed ADHD, I would say I have a love hate relationship with it. It messes with a lot of my daily duty’s it makes it harder for me to study, and it even makes it harder for me to find friends who can deal with it. Even though it does have its ups and downs I don’t mind it much at all. I believe most of my creativity comes from my ADHD. How would I have built the things I have without it? I wonder, how different would this paper turn out if I was…

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, also known as ADHD, is a developmental disability that usually presents in early childhood and results in a persistent and chronic pattern of learning impairment in school, in social settings, and in daily adaptive functioning. The lasting pattern of inattentiveness and/or uncontrollability or recklessness is more often exhibited and more relentless than which is typically observed in individuals at a comparable level of physical and emotional development. In adulthood, ADHD can affect an individual’s work, behavior, social life, and relationships. ADHD tends to reflect an individual’s…

Shortly after my father died when I was nine years old, my perceptions on life changed drastically. I went from being an everyday average child to over thinking just the smallest things. Now as I have grown into an adult and a mother this has not changed but in most cases gotten worse than what it was. However, I have not considered this a bad thing at all I have learned to analyze things around me in order to grasp the complete understanding. This has helped me through some very tough times as a single mother, and is a skill so to speak that I have encouraged my son to do as well. Now not everything has been peaches and rainbows, I have lost people that I once loved dearly because of the way I perceived their actions with my over thinking every little thing someone does. Although I have learned that analyzing, things without the facts can hurt many people I still find this to be a unique skill. I have learned through the years that the way that I perceive things also helps me with my every day stress. As I have mentioned before I have an 11-year-old son that has been diagnosed with bipolar, ADHD, OCD and ODD, dealing with a child that has to have mood-stabilizing drugs in order to function in a manner that society considers normal is stressful with in itself. I have learned over the years to take everything on day at a time and not to over load my plate with too much, because I am known for over thinking, stressing out and shutting down. When I get over stressed I have high anxiety attacks that can last for hours, sometimes days this is not a progressive way to live your life in fact it can be completely debilitating at times. I have found that the smallest things can push my stress level to the point of a complete melt down. However, sense I work with a therapist…

Learning to Drive with A.D.H.D. is an article written by John O’Neil and describes the challenges and dangers experienced by those who “suffer” from such “disabilities”. In the beginning of an article, he uses the example of a girl with A.D.H.D. who absolutely cannot pass her driving test. The entire article demonstrates society’s misconception about those who are known to have what society calls “disorders” and how they affect people’s ability to drive. The entire article uses examples of people who apparently have the disorder, but in my opinion share in common stupidity rather than A.D.H.D. which makes the entire article inaccurate. Also, the article contradicts itself in a few areas which also weakens the authors argument.…

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, also known as ADHD, is a behavioral condition that makes focusing on everyday routines a challenge. Individuals who have ADHD and are left untreated can develop behavioral and emotional problems, difficulties within relationships and family problems. Children with this disorder never outgrow it, and adults often have difficulties keeping jobs and maintaining relationships with people. Research studies show that ADHD is genetic and may be environmentally induced. As someone who has Bipolar and severe anxiety I have utilized many defense mechanisms just to get through daily life. When I was younger, ① denial (refusing to accept real events because they are unpleasant) was one that I used a lot. I used to deny that I was abused by my birth mother and step father because I just couldn’t bear to think that an adult would do that to a child. I would often ② rationalize (justify behaviors by substituting acceptable reasons for less acceptable real reasons) their behavior by saying that it was somehow my fault they did those things. I either wasn’t listening or I just bothered them when they were in a bad mood. They loved me and only did those things because I deserved them. Unfortunately, as I grew older…
