I am involved in several activities outside of 4-H. I am a member of FFA, High School Bass Fishing team, NHS, Volunteens, and an active member in my church. I am a member of FFA and the bass fishing team. I have been an active member of my FFA chapter for the past four years, I currently have a record book on beef production and swine placement. With my record books, I have competed in both section and district competition, receiving first at district with my swine placement book, advancing to state. This was a highlight of my FFA career, and I now strive to earn my American FFA degree. I have also served as my chapter’s Vice President and President. As a member of the officer team I have organized fundraisers, planned the chapter banquet, and FFA week activities. My job with the fundraisers included helping unload and organize the fruit when it arrives and to assist with selling tractor raffle tickets at basketball games.
Within my school, I am also a member of the Bass fishing team, Volunteens, and National Honor Society (NHS). I have been a member of my high school bass fishing team for all four years of high school. On the team I compete in tournaments each spring to earn a spot on the post season roster. Members of the team are also required to sell raffle tickets to pay for our shirts and other expenses. My freshman year on the team I was one of the top sellers, selling over one-hundred tickets and have continued selling as many as possible. I discovered that the best way is to sell the tickets at our high school boys basketball home games and at the community fish fries. Volunteering in my community is also very important to me, and because of this I joined the Volunteens at my school. With the Volunteens I have helped with the paper

Education has always been one of the most important things to me, and I am dedicated to learn as much as humanly possible. Throughout my high school career I have challenged myself by completing six advanced placement classes and taking other honors classes. I have taken these classes as a way to help guide myself for what is to come in the future in college. I was inducted into the National Honors Society during my junior year of high school, and I graduated with honors. Both of these successes are the two greatest accomplishments of my high school career. These two achievements prove how dedicated I was, and still am, to getting the best education I could. My quality of dedication will stick with me throughout my future endeavors.…

FFA is something that I love. I have been in a leadership position for the last three years as a class officer, Washington County Junior Livestock Association officer and FFA officer. I believe my purpose in life is to serve others. Leaders must serve the needs of others rather than their own desires. One reason I wish to run for district office is to serve the FFA and its members. Agriculture is the backbone of our country. FFA and Agricutlure offer the opportunity to serve others. In every thing I do I make sure that the job is done correctly amd thoroughly. If you choose me to hold an officer position I promise I will not let you down. You may ask,"Why choose you over someone else?" I will work to the best of my ability and do all…

4-H has been an important part of our family throughout my entire life. My dad has been on the Ida County Fair Board for over thirty years and my brother and I have spent a lot of family time helping at the fairgrounds throughout the years, as well as working with our family’s livestock and farming operation since we were very little. I remember when I was four years old, I would tag along with my mom to my brother’s 4-H meetings when he started in the 4th grade. I couldn’t wait until I could be old enough to be a “real” 4-H’er and join myself! I feel fortunate for the years of leadership experience in my 4-H club as a treasurer and vice president. Being a part of 4-H has exposed me to several opportunities to demonstrate my dedication, determination,…

After sitting at the same desk for three years, I figured I was beyond seeing anything new. I was wrong. It was the beginning of the school year and I was hoping I would pass twelfth grade so I could try to go to college but right now chances looked slim. I am the classic couch potato, plump like a pig and lazy, that was why I couldn't pass. Over time I began to realize that I would need to alter my ways or I would spend a miserable life. I resolved to lift weights and run every day and get into shape and try a lot harder in school. I was fit and I had never played sports, so when school came I joined the football team. I studied the playbook hard and memorized the plays so that when they called a play I instantly saw what was going to…

In my Senior Year of being in the National Honor Society, I was excited to volunteer and to help those in need. I helped out with a soup kitchen in Brainerd through another organization that I am in, the Student Council. As I scooped soup into bowls and placed them onto people’s trays, I could see a look of appreciation and gratitude on their faces. This was the first time in my National Honor Society career where I understood just how much my time and effort meant to these individuals. This volunteer opportunity made me realize that a simple meal, smile, and effort to do something helpful and nice can really make someone’s day brighter or easier.…

I pulled up my socks, slid in my shin guards, and tied my cleats extra tight; my hand was in the huddle as I looked around at our pink jerseys and proceeded to shout my team name.
