My experiences in writing When I in the middle school I began to study the English writing. In that time I just wrote a very easy journal, and just about 50 worlds. The teacher just want we know how to use English for writing. From many excise, I know a little about English writing. In high school, the teacher put the main part on grammar in writing. I should use many subordinate clauses in my writing, and make the writing looks very profession. When I came to the WMU, there are many different way from China in writing. I learned how to write the summary, the essay, the paper, and so on. I think a good writer should have profound cultural background and insight into the eye of the world, there is a good language ability of organization, of course, more important is to have their own original ideas. I think my article is not deep enough, I should read more books to accumulate more material to develop further knowledge, help me to write the article. In my opinion, I think the most difficult part is the grammar in English writing. It is prone to mistakes in grammar, and it is prone to the Chinese mind English sentences. However, the easiest part is the article conception. I can do it very well, because I have active thinking. So, my strengths are active thinking, and the my weaknesses is not a lot of vocabulary. I usually use scratch paper to write the first draft, modify to me means that improve the overall structure, beautify the language and the article goes on to the up and down. I like the teacher can let myself to formulate the title, so that I can have its own space, have their own ideas and want to express ideas. I hope in this class I can learn my knowledge in writing. Writing in the English discipline compares to writing outside of the academic setting in that writing in “the real world” consists of book reviews, news articles, journalism, conference presentations, blogging, etc. Writing in the English discipline usually allows the writer to write more freely and explain his/her own ideas. For example, if one were to become a book reviewer or a journalist, he/she would be expected to address their opinion. However, if one were to become a current event columnist, he/she would be expected to strictly jot down the facts.…

Research Paper - A research paper is a combination of various activities other than just writing it. If those are done correctly then there is a good chance that the writing part will be flawless. I believe the reason behind it is because you are spending so much time in doing those other activities, it gives you a clear and concise idea of the topic and most importantly, the confidence to write the paper. The other activities which I keep mentioning about are, choosing a topic, the actual research process on the topic, critical thinking, source evaluation and organization. When it comes to the composition part, it should be free from ambiguity and must have clarity. Coherence is another aspect that must be maintained throughout so there is flow to the process. The reader…

I have always had struggles and difficulties when it comes to writing. This is due to the fact that English is not my first language, and that I am still learning. I started to learn how to speak, and listen, and mainly write in English when I was in ninth grade. Writing has been the hardest to deal with it, because I have many spelling and mechanical errors and most importantly, how to organize an essay, but this changed when I took English 49 with Professor Lucero. In my first day of class, I was assigned to write an essay about my experience with writing. I was not completely sure on how to start my essay and how to organize it. When I was in High School, I did not write many essays, and the few I did, I have endless help. So, I just my…

My writing history is all over the place. I took Honors English my eleventh grade year, and loved it but took AP English my senior year and hated it. Mr. Palmer, who taught honors, was my favorite English teacher. He let us write about whatever came to mind on Fridays, whether we were ranting about classes or just had a fun story to tell. My favorite part about him is that he actually taught me how to write. My AP teacher did not improve our writing but only critiqued it. In my opinion, you can always learn how to write better. Even with being in AP I wish she fixed my writing more than just giving me a grade. More than half our students failed the English exam and the national average was a 2 on a scale of 5. So, within the past year writing…
