My Experience With Imsa's Diverse Community

With IMSA’s diverse community I will be able to learn factual and academic knowledge from other students as well as appreciate their unique life experiences that may differ from mine. Through social collaboration, I will receive a window into the minds of other IMSA students. I will be able to learn how they have grown up, how they have dealt with problems, and see what drives them to get up every morning hungry for knowledge. This diverse environment will allow me a limitless pool of untapped life lessons, experiences, and insights that is currently unattainable at my ethnically uniform school. In conversing with others about their failures and triumphs, I can better reflect and improve on my strengths and weaknesses. Because different cultures value different ideals and morals, I will be able to learn more about how people think, their outlook on life, and their religion and customs. This exposure will in turn make me a more culturally aware person. It is these differences in life that provide a unique way of thinking and solving problems, in turn making my own education and personal development more enlightened and creative. I believe diversity unlocks creativity, indispensable life lessons, self reflection, and a window into other people’s unique
This freedom of interests and personalities comes from the presupposed knowledge that diversity is a key component to any great education. Most students know the extent of the diverse community at IMSA and it is this preset knowledge that allow us, as students, to follow our passions and personalities fully without social judgment. From this freedom, we are allowed to develop into highly intelligent, creative, and unique students.
