DREAM
ORGANIZATION

We all have a dream to work for an organization which has influenced us in some or the other way, when it comes to me I have always dreamt of working for a great and globally acclaimed financial institution, a great institution and whenever I think of such an institution, only one name flashes in my conscious mind and that is ICICI Group (Industrial credit and investment corporation of india limited).

As an institution the ICICI has made a very strong impact on my decision of taking Finance in MBA, as a student I look forward to carve my destiny as an official of the ICICI. When I read about the institution the one person who inspired me was Mr. A. RAMASWAMI MUDALIAR who was the first chairman of this great institution, the history of work structure of ICICI is as follows:

ICICI established in 1955, incorporated at the initiative of the World Bank, the Government of India and representatives of Indian industry, with the objective of creating a development financial institution for providing medium-term and long-term project financing to Indian businesses. It emerges as the major source of foreign currency loans to Indian industry. Besides funding from the World Bank and other multi-lateral agencies, ICICI was also among the first Indian companies to raise funds from international markets. ICICI Group offers a wide range of banking products and financial services to corporate and retail customers through a variety of delivery channels and through its specialized group companies, subsidiaries and affiliates in the areas of personal banking, investment banking, life and general insurance, venture capital and asset management. With a strong customer focus, the ICICI Group Companies have maintained and enhanced their leadership position in their respective sectors. ICICI Group expects all its employees, officers and directors to act in accordance with high professional and ethical standards.

Lots of people find it hard to answer the question what do you want to do for a living. In addition, many dream that one day their hobby would constitute a big part of their occupation. I have always been good at languages and for me it is a pleasure to study one, not an obligation. But I believe that languages need to be practiced otherwise one will forget them. That is why I would like to work in a company where I need to speak many languages or at least one foreign. Also, I like different cultures and I think that working in a multinational company that has branches all over the world would be the most suitable place for me. Also, I consider myself a creative person, who likes dynamic and fast paced environment. That is the reason why being in the field of Marketing has always been my dream. Working in such field seems very easy, but in fact Marketing and PR, not to mention planning, are activities that are very demanding – working on a tight deadline, being prepared for the unexpected things, being extremely concentrated, paying attention to every single detail and working fast, are just some of the things that a marketing person should be able to do.…

    • 4 Pages

ICICI Bank was set up when the process of deregulation and liberalization had just begun in India and the Reserve Bank of India (India’s central bank) had paved the way for private players in the banking sector, which at that time was dominated by state-owned and foreign banks. Serving the majority of the country’s populace, state owned banks had a large branch network, with minimal or no automation and little focus on service. Foreign banks, on the other hand, deployed high-end technology, had innovative product offerings, but had a very small branch network that serviced only corporate's and individuals with high net-worth. Sensing an untapped opportunity, ICICI Bank decided to target India’s burgeoning middle class and corporate's by offering a high level of customer service and efficiency that rivaled the foreign banks, on a much larger scale, at a lower cost. A crucial aspect of this strategy was the emphasis on technology. ICICI Bank positioned itself as technology-savvy customer friendly bank.…
