My Dream Job
My Dream Job
There was a typical assignment during my school years - write an essay after reading a book or spending a summer break in a country side. And I remember I loved it and I was quite good at it! Let see how I will cope with it twenty years after. I will add some personal facts to it, so you can get to know me better.
When I was in high school I wanted to work in an architectural world and got enrolled to shooting class because I heard I would need it for my future job. During my last two years in school I changed my mind several times to journalism and law.

By the graduation I realized that there were not too many choices in my home town, just two to be correct – to continue my education in either pedagogical or technical university. My parents were busy working full time providing for the family and we never discussed seriously the possibility of me going to another city because it would create many financial and organizational problems. Being the youngest daughter and living with my parents all my life I did not insist. So, since I never wanted to be a teacher I picked a technical field of study. My father was an Electronic Engineer and I, having no clear plans and directions, thought it was not bad idea to become an engineer. I read an advertisement about civil engineering and it sounded good to me. Each term I started by learning new science or technology subjects and found that economics and management classes are the most interesting and exciting. I more enjoyed course work and projects for fundamentals of business rather than for technology of concrete fillers and heat transfer. When it came to the first field training, which lasted two months, I was disappointed with my future job - watch for the right percentage of concrete ingredients such as cement, gravel and water, do tests for resistance of concrete blocks – that seemed very uninteresting. “Oh well, we cannot always do what we want to do”- I thought and continued hitting large

I decided to pursue civil engineering because, I can easily solve problems and can think outside of box. Civil engineering requires the ability to use physics and problem solving in real life situations. These are things that come easily to me and I enjoy doing them. I have chosen to attend NAIT because it offers one of the best programs for engineering in Alberta and the classes are not as large as other colleges. I am going to accomplish my goal by first taking all of my required classes in high school. To even enroll into NAIT’s engineering program I must have taken and passed Math 30-1, Physics 30, and Grade 12 english and have passed with 75% overall grade. To prepare for my transition from high school to college, I will work during…

Throughout High School and college I didn't know what career path that I wanted to take. As a college student, I just gained the opportunity to express myself, to spread my wings and to go after my dream only to realize that I didn’t know what it was that I wanted to pursue. The pressure and expectation from everybody did not help the cause either. So I decided that I am going to pursue engineering because it is a profession that I could finish and get a job after 4 years, plus I had friends I knew that were also doing engineering. I attended an engineering seminar along with my friends to attain a better understanding of the job and what it entails to achieve the goal. The classes I needed to take to be an engineer required a lot of math and physics, and once if I became and engineer I would need to apply those subjects in the job. I knew right then that engineering wasn't the right profession for me because I would…

Considering the effects of advertising on consumers, there are a few risks that advertisers take in placing advertisements on MySpace. One risk taken, Advertisers may try to minimize information about the product. Now that means the consumers or people on MySpace that see this ad, are not getting the full run down on information that they need to distinguish whether or not the product is a need to them or not. Another risk on advertising on MySpace is to modify the nature of the communication media where it is shown. For instance on MySpace, when they advertise a new movie, they like to re-design the background so that it grabs your attention. Now the bad side to this is that, when you make an annoying background, people aren’t going to sit there and want to look at it. The frustration of the mixed colors and things moving all over your screen is a turn off to most people from my experience. What kind of people or personalities might companies try to appeal to by advertising on MySpace? Well that’s a pretty easy question to answer, Teenagers. If you have noticed on MySpace, it’s not advertisements of a new movie, its more than likely advertisements of music artists. For example, I have recently checked out the main home page of MySpace and all you see over it is a bunch of Rap Stars, Pop Stars, and Hip Hop artists. Most of the artists they are advertising are the famous ones such as Akon, Justin Timberlake, and Ludicrous. These are names of most of the top music brands that Teenagers in high school are listening to at the time being. You very rarely see advertisements for adults on MySpace because it’s more run by the lower and upper teens over populating it. Not saying that there aren’t any adults on there but, most are teens on MySpace and it’s a really big area to advertise if you want to get their attention. Most big Movie Businesses and Music Labels have already started advertising there big movies and song artists. The MySpace environment, will it make it…

Right from my early days, if there is something which mesmerized me, then it has to be huge structures like railroads, airports, highways and all such Mega Structures. After I grew up, I learnt that all my areas of interest coincided with what the course of Civil Engineering offered. This made Civil Engineering as my obvious choice for under-graduation. I worked hard towards my interest and secured admission into Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology, Hyderabad which is one of the premier technical institutions of the country.…

Many people in my life have also suggested that I pursue engineering with my good math and science skills. Pursuing engineering was without a doubt the easiest and hardest decision I have ever made. This will be my third year at Missouri University of Science and Technology and I can still safely say this is the right fit for my personal needs for self-growth. I am always challenged and required to think in a vastly different way than I have ever been used to. My intended major now was mechanical engineering which is still very interesting to me, but I discovered the many intricacies of civil engineering and decided that I need to pursue it with much haste and tenacity. Civil engineers are a vital part to society as they design so many various structures like roads building plans and even recreational areas. Now, the only way to become an official civil engineer is through formal education. Through this university, my future will be vastly changed for the better by adding significant value to it. The challenges I face every day at Missouri S&T will most certainly be worth it in the end, for I know what I want and need in my life when I become a civil…

In high school I have taken a lot of classes. Some I had to take as a graduate requirement such as English, math and social studies. Others I didn’t have to take, but did because I either wanted to work out or learn more on some subject I liked. These classes would fall along the lines of art, power lifting and ceramics. That’s just what I thought this class was going to end up being. Just a class I took for the fun of it because the subject looked cool to me. I had no idea that it would forever change my mind-set about everything.…

Lots of people find it hard to answer the question what do you want to do for a living. In addition, many dream that one day their hobby would constitute a big part of their occupation. I have always been good at languages and for me it is a pleasure to study one, not an obligation. But I believe that languages need to be practiced otherwise one will forget them. That is why I would like to work in a company where I need to speak many languages or at least one foreign. Also, I like different cultures and I think that working in a multinational company that has branches all over the world would be the most suitable place for me. Also, I consider myself a creative person, who likes dynamic and fast paced environment. That is the reason why being in the field of Marketing has always been my dream. Working in such field seems very easy, but in fact Marketing and PR, not to mention planning, are activities that are very demanding – working on a tight deadline, being prepared for the unexpected things, being extremely concentrated, paying attention to every single detail and working fast, are just some of the things that a marketing person should be able to do.…
