My career path at Procter & Gamble
"What is it that you like doing? If you don’t like it, get out of it, because you’ll be lousy at it. You don’t have to stay with a job for the rest of your life, because if you don’t like it you’ll never be successful in it." Lee Iaccocca Quote
Introduction in 180 companies in the world | Choosing the Right Career Path - Article by Michael Dylan | http://www.woopidoo.com/articles/dylan/career-path.htm Choosing the right career path is one of the most defining decisions we can make in life. Our job not only says a lot about what kind of person we are, but will influence what type of car we drive, what kind of house we live in, the people we associate with, and more. But above all these things, is the fact that we spend most of our waking moments at work!. Which means that if our job does not fulfill us or does not allow us to pursue our life goals, than it is not the career we should spend the rest of our life doing. (Article by Michael Dylan)

In the discussion of A Life Beyond “Do What You Want”, one controversial issue has been, do we find a vocation that we love and are passionate about or do we settle for a vocation that we are good at and do it very well, but not love or even like? Dr. Gordon Marino, Philosopher at St. Olaf College in Minnesota, suggests that both are important, and it is the individual who must make that decision. Marino also challenges his students to think about what makes them happy. Marino further tries to equip his students with the knowledge to make an informed decision pertaining to the rest of their lives. However, on the one hand, a person must feel complete and do what he or she does well, but then again choosing a career and just doing it well isn’t always the answer. A person must feel fulfilled or the career and money does not matter. In conclusion, Marino recommends finding a passion, turn it into a career and work till it becomes doing something a person loves. However, on the other hand, Marino also states that doing good work to help the family or help others is selfless, yet very rewarding. In many cases, helping others is a fulfillment of its own and then it becomes a person’s passion.…

Contrary to Steve Jobs’ speech, Meagan McArdle wrote an interesting article putting a practical spin on the loved inspirational speech. She says that doing what you love and following your bliss in life is a great idea but it is not realistic. She says, “Doing what you love, and never settling until you find it, is a costly signal of your career prospects.” She believes that your career should be something you enjoy, but it is important to look at big picture. There are not only limited jobs out there that are fun and high paying but those jobs are the ones most people want. So maybe settling for something less great will still give you a great outcome.…
