Essay 1 My Boyfriend

A good boyfriend is a friend, a person to depend upon whenever help or guidance is

needed. My boyfriend, Xavier is the backbone to our family. He is supportive, hardworking,

and loving.

My boyfriend, has been my biggest cheerleader through my triumphs and setbacks.

The support that I have received from Xavier has helped me overcome many challenging

obstacles in my life. He has supported me financially by pitching in for my school tuition and

personal needs. He is also very emotionally supportive of my feelings. When I am having a

bad day or overly stressed he sends me small notes to remind me that regardless of how

negative my day has been I should have an optimistic outlook on life and its challenges.
My boyfriend, Xavier is one of the most hard working men I have ever known. He has

provided for our son and myself for the past two years. He drives a truck for a living and

starts his day at 3 o'clock in the morning. My boyfriend has been the most influential

person in my life. He always works hard on everything he puts his mind into. His way of being

has taught me the recipe to achieving the things I want most in life. In order to be successful

one must work hard.

Xavier, shows his love not by words but by actions. He shows his love through

acceptance and validation of my decisions, desires, and needs. He often surprises me with

candlelit dinners, flowers, and cards. His love is patient and it is not arrogant. He often

considers my needs before his own. He inspires more complete adoration than other

boyfriends. He cooks, cleans and cares for our child at least as much as I do. He's

handsome, brilliant and loving. But he can be scatterbrained, antisocial and arrogant. He's

also a great dancer.

My happiness resembles how great of a boyfriend he is to me and how blessed I am to

have such a great supportive and loving family

This led to him living in poverty and put him at a severe disadvantage. Given the time period he grew up in, he became an outsider. He was born into a well-off family, but the death of his father put my grandfather and his mother into a much lower social class, in which he did not have as many benefits as he would have had had his father been alive. His perseverance despite these unfortunate circumstances and his journey to make a better life for his future family are inspirational to me and show me that with all of the opportunities I am afforded I have no excuse to not make the most of them. I do not have to worry about putting myself through school, much less putting food on the table for my family from a young…
