My Artifact Analysis
There are many thing that are of importance to me in my life but the three that I cherish the most is my phone, my keyboard, and my bible. One of the artifacts in my life that is of importance to me, is my phone. It sounds absurd to say that a phone is my bestfriend, but I guess that means you can call me absurd. I carry this device in my pocket, it’s pocket sized and can travel anywhere that I go. My phone shows how I live a what you would call adventurous life. I take pictures of all the places I go and see. Incredible it really is that I can take a picture which is also a memory and be able to see it time after time. Although I may be alone, I’m really never alone because no matter how far away I am to the people that I care for, I can always contact them and see what they’re doing and they can see what I’m doing. For example, one of the people that I care a lot about lives up in Brewton, FL, about two and a half hours away or more, but we stay up together for four hours talking on the phone. In conclusion, with this artifact I have the ability to capture my memories and create more as I go. As my second important artifact I cherish my keyboard. When the musical mood sets in, the calmer I become. A black and white key machines that stands to my waist in height stays in the same corner of …show more content…

This artifact is a letter written by my professor Dr. Maureen Walsh explaining my involvement in Read across America Day at North Schuylkill Elementary School. I co-taught two lessons on this day one in a secondary classroom and one in a kindergarten classroom. This experience allowed me to practice teaching strategies and work collaboratively with the community. This artifact fits under standard #10: leadership and collaboration, since it explains an opportunity I had to work with a peer and serve my community. By doing this experience I gained a lot of knowledge on how to work well with other professionals and volunteer in my community. This is an example of my best work since it demonstrates how a professor noticed my ability to use the…

My cell phone plays a huge role in my life. I think many others would say the same as well. Before I received my first phone, my oldest sister, Andrea, had a phone. Sarah, my other sister, and I wanted our own phones as well. My mom would let us play games on her phone sometimes but it just was not the same as having our own phones. One day when Sarah and I had come home from school, we walked into the kitchen saw something we didn’t expect. When we realized what was sitting there on the kitchen counter, our jaws dropped. There, sitting on the counter, were two beautiful brand new phones in white shiny boxes. One box had Sarah’s name on…

It opened my mind to studying the bible as it gives a very good base to my knowledge, by taking a range of different angles. The Bible stemmed from being written on papyrus paper to millions of copies being sold worldwide, the same words that Jeremiah wrote after his first encounter and speaking with God, and texts after being written centuries ago sit on my desk as I write this. It opened my eyes to the many author’s and people behind the works of the bible. It gave an understanding of the bible that I had never thought of before, where it stemmed from and how it originated. I found it so interesting about the dead sea scrolls that survived nearly 2,000 years in clay jars, because now everything is so based on technology that it is so hard to believe anything written could last that long. I always wondered why certain branches of religion have a different number of books in their sacred texts and I learned that churches that followed the reformation use shorter canons for their translations. I had always just looked at the Bible as one book, even though being Catholic I knew there was much more than one book. Reading this chapter made me realise the thousands of years of work by many different people and writers that went into our sacred scripture. It gave enough detail that you weren’t bored reading it but also got a lot of helpful information. I feel as if I have a much greater understanding of how the Bible was written, when, where and why also. It showed me the historical development of the Bible which is something I would never have thought of before. What I mainly took from reading this chapter is you cannot judge a book by what’s on its cover, or have a knowledge of its contents by looking at the title. That you must be willing to put time and effort into studying such a book as the bible to understand what it holds. I will now know that careful preparation is needed in my study of the…
