My Academic Goals At NOVA
My academic goal at NOVA is to keep my GPA as high as I can for the next year. I have already completed my first year here. I plan to complete my science associates at Northern Virginia Community College. Then I plan to transfer to Virginia Tech, there I will finish my bachelors. My educational goal is to become a veterinarian for small animals. After I complete my bachelors at Virginia Tech, which I will finish with a biochemistry degree, I will apply to Virginia Tech's Virginia -Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. I have already looked at the prerequisites the school requires and I already have a lot of them, at NOVA. To be accepted into the school I will need experience working for a veterinarian as well. I plan to start with that

After Graduate School, I hope to have my PhD in psychology or my doctorate in psychiatry. I would like to start out working in jails, talking to criminals and analyzing their brains versus the brain of an average adult to study how the brain reacts with criminal activity and why they do and feel what they do. I have heard that a person can not do that type of work for very long because it is emotionally tasking so after that, I would like to open my own counseling practice up. I would do either marriage and family therapy or focus on teenage depression. Eventually, I would like to retire into school psychology or become a psychology teacher. Also, if I ever have enough money, I will buy a house devoted to taking in stray animals…

As a freshman in college veterinarian school seems like a daunting and almost impossible task. Many upperclassmen I’ve talked to have told me that to get into veterinary school you must have a 4.0. With all this being said I’ve also met colleagues who had a 4.0 and yet their application was rejected. After searching for the million dollar question of “ What I can do to increase my chances of getting accepted into a veterinarian college” I stumbled across the website avma.org. Avma stands for American Veterinary Medical Association, its mission is to be an advocate for it’s 88,000 veterinarians members and to unite and improve the veterinary profession as a whole. This website was the golden answer to all of my questions, in the article “ Veterinary School Admission 101” it contains a list of steps, tips, and insider tricks that are aimed at giving you the best chance possible of being accepted into Veterinarian School. As a small animal science major and one of the thousands of undergraduates applying to veterinarian school, I want my…

One of my short term goals would have to be boosting my accumulative GPA higher than my current 3.472. Since this is my last year of high-school, I decided that I needed a bit more of a challenge. I am currently taking two honor courses this year, which are Psychology and Anatomy/Physiology. I did not sign up for these classes with only hopes of being able to boost my GPA, but also because I’m aware that it will be useful for someone who’s interested in becoming a nurse. To elaborate further, I took Psychology because in the future, I would like to able to understand my patients on all levels I’m taking Anatomy/Physiology so I can be more familiar with the human body and all of its…
