Upon many great musicians there are more that have fame just because of publicity. [Publicity is a deliberate attempt to manage the public’s perception of the musician (“Publicity,” 2012, “Definition”). Usually in publicity they look at people such as politicians and performing artists, goods and services, organizations of all kinds, and works of art or entertainment. Publicity draws on to several key themes including birth, love, and death, this is important to them because it focuses on heavy times in important people’s lives. Publicists do this as a publicity stunt. Publicists are people or one person that generate and manage publicity for a product (“Publicity,” 2012, “Publicists”). As it may seem that there are many aspects to a publicist’s job, their main job is to persuade the press to talk about their client in the most positive way possible and to generate press coverage on clients and to serve as the bridge between clients, their public, and mass media outlets (“Publicity,” 2012, “Publicists,” “Publicists,” 2012, “Definition,” Para 3). They are skilled at identifying newsworthy aspects of products and personalities, to offer to the press as possible reportage ideas. In the world of celebrities, unlike agents or managers, publicists usually take a monthly fee for taking care of a client (“Publicists,” 2012, “Definition,” Para 2). A publicity stunt is a planned event designed to attract the public’s attention to the event’s organizers or the event’s cause (“Publicity Stunt,” 2012, “Definition”). Organizations sometimes seek publicity by staging newsworthy events that attract media coverage. The mass media are all those media technologies that are intended to reach a large audience by mass communication (“Mass Media,” 2012, “Definition”). Mass communication consists of an academic study of how individuals and entities relay information through mass media to large segments of the population at the same time (“Mass Communication,” 2012, “Definition”). The organization that controls the technologies, such as television stations or publishing companies, these two items are also known as mass media (“Mass Media,” 2012, “Definition”). Also, many people choose to study practical skills as a journalist, public relations, or advertiser, they offer programs on mass communications or mass communication research (“Mass Communication,” 2012, “Field of Study,” Para 2). Someone who works with Public Relations also known as PR practices managing the flow of information between an individual or an organization and the public, which brings it back to publicity (“Public Relations,” 2012, “Definition”). Publicity has recorded by pictures or stories the actions and appearance of many different musicians for many years.
The musician can be classified by their roles in performing music and writing music (“Musician,” 2012, “Definition”). This person is the type of person who makes music a profession; anyone who’s skilled in making music or performing music creatively, one who composes, or performs music, is a musician. When music first started out in the twentieth century, musicians where transitioning from nineteenth century Romanticism to twentieth century Modernism and it inhabitants witnessed a drastic musical change (“Musician,” 2012, “Twentieth-Century,” Para 1). Now during the twentieth century artists wrote to be “…objective, while objects existed on their own terms. While past eras concentrated on spirituality, this new period placed emphasis on physicality and this that were concrete.” Now while a musician may describe what a musician was when this twentieth century started, now in year 2012 when talking about musicians we describe them as music artists (“Musician,” 2012, “References,” 2012; “Music Artists (Occupation),” 2012).
