I will not allow school to come second in my life again and I plan on retaking all my classes I did poorly in and am going to work hard next

“WHOA WHOA WHOA THIS IS BALONEY MAN!” that is something I say whenever I am frustrated. People have always told me sometimes the best way to learn something is through failure. People value things they have accomplished differently. Often the people whom are naturally adept at things do not realize how much of a struggle it can be for others. Many times when people have told me that if you are going to fall, fall forward. Do not let your insecurities, doubts, and pride get in the way of improving yourself. In brief, there can always be a way to improve yourself.…

There are many biopsychosocial influences that could affect me this semester. The main biopsychosocial influence that I believe will have an effect on me is socio – cultural with homesickness and being lonely. I am a triplet and I have always gone to school with my siblings, so not seeing them every day could be a challenge for me. The other biopsychosocial influence that I may deal with this semester is biological with not eating as much as I should because I have classes during lunch most of the week. The last biopsychosocial influence that may impact me this semester is psychological with depression and anxiety because I get really anxious over school work and I also don’t have any classes with my roommate which could lead to me having depression. All of these biopsychosocial influences could seriously have an effect on me this semester.…

Through these distractions and kind words, I was destined to stay focused on what mattered the most, my education and future. Although my high school has some defects, it does not become an excuse for me to be unsuccessful. I took every opportunity available to me and through the guidance of teachers, I was able to perceiver and beat the odds of being another failure from Moreno Valley High School. In the next couple of months, making clarity of the next steps I am about to take into a university will not be easy, but the future will be worth the…

Today is a wonderful millstone in my life , because I decided to go back to college and continue my education. I have been through many obstacles in my life and making the decision to go back to school will give me the opportunity to prove that just because you grow up in a bad environment does not mean that you can’t succeed in life or accomplish great things. There are others reason why I went back to school as well one of them being that it will increase my finical situation, and portray a positive role model for my daughter I grew up in Compton California which is a very poverty stricken area that is infested with crime, gangs, teen pregnancy and poverty. I was raised by my grandmother who tried to instill nothing but positive things in me. She made it clear to me that school was very important and without an education you may want to go far but won’t. I studied hard and obtained a full scholar ship to UCLA but I ended up getting pregnant with my daughter and quit.…

School always came first, without a doubt. But, I let the move get to me. I let change get to me, and that shouldn’t have been the case.Doing my best is what I should have kept doing, but that wasn’t what happened.. My uncle is the person that made me realize that. He’d always call to check up on me, making sure I was doing the best that I could without any excuses. He called one day and asked how I was doing in my new school, and I told him the truth. His response was nothing I was prepared for. I was used to him telling me how proud he was of me, and that I’m going to set out to be the greatest at what I want to become. But, this phone conversation was not anything I thought it would be.He said, “Even though I hoped this wouldn't happen, I knew it would.” What did that even mean? Did it mean he was rooting for my failure? That talk sparked something in me. It reignited my passion for success. I started to get my act together and refocus on my grades, and what I wanted in life. Slowly my grades started improving, with each semester slightly getting…

During my freshman year, I had a lot going on personally. My parents got a divorce the summer before my freshman year, and I also transferred schools. I went through a huge transition with a new school and family life. I transferred to Algona High School my freshman year because I was getting bullied and picked on at my last school. When I first came here, I was struggling with the idea of being somewhere new. I was very nervous about making new friends because of my past experience at school. These two hardship made me become more independent and grow up a lot faster. It made me step out of my box and make new friends. The third hardship I had to go through was in my sophomore year; I lost one of my best friends to breast cancer. My aunt died in October of my sophomore year, and it had a huge effect on me. Her two boys and I were going through a very emotional time. I had to help take care of them and try to take care of myself on top of it. This hardship changed me a lot and taught me to live life to the fullest and to be a caring and loving person. These three hardships in my high school career has changed me for the…

I attempted to go to school a few times throughout the end of the school year, but it always ended in a disaster. At the end of freshmen year I was missing many credits from my report card, which is a student’s worst nightmare. As I was feeling better I was given loads and loads of homework from multiple subjects, and since I was deprived of school for the last four months I was excited to be able to read and write again. Now as a senior with all my credits completed I look back at this situation happy that this happened to me. Yes, I am happy I had a severe concussion because I was able to learn what true compassion was and how unconditional love is applied by one of the most important teachers I have had: my…

Enrolling in school was something I knew I had to do but have put off for the past few years. My Military training has been my priority since day one. Attending as many military schools and deploying often has taken precedence over college. At this point progression in my career is dependent on my ability to complete my degree and to fulfill my education. Deciding to go back to school seemed like an obvious choice for my career and beyond. I had once enrolled in a class where I physically had to sit in the classroom three days a week. With the hectic schedule of my job I quickly had to drop class and focus on my military training.…

This essay will be discussing and analysing events that occurred throughout my life. Emphasis will be on my psychological, physiological, social, and spiritual experiences (inclusive to both positive and negative experiences); cultural interaction and understanding; and resilience, healing and personal agency. By collating the analyses, I will be able to reflect on how these experiences and factors affect and shape who I am today. These factors will be addressed through the application of Maslow’s theory on motivation, in particular his ‘hierarchy of needs’ model; Durkhiem’s ‘suicide’ theory of social cohesion and regulation; and the Maori holistic health model known as ‘Te Whare Tapa Wha’.…
