The saw-whet and Screech owl are described as “delicate.” The saw- whet is even compared to a big soft month. These descriptions set up a stark contrast of the horned owl which is described having, “razor tipped toes” and “a heavy hooked beak.”…

Plithiver, Soren's family's nest-maid snake, was found; she confirmed Kludd's true nature and suspected that he pushed Eglantine out of the nest as well after having driven her away. As they entered the Desert of Kuneer, they met a Burrowing Owl named Digger who told them that Jatt and Jutt, cousins who served St. Aggie's, had snatched Digger's older brother, Cunny, but then ate Digger's younger brother, Flick. Digger accompanied the three owls in search of his old home from which he ran after the attack. Then, a St. Aggie's patrol arrived consisting of Jatt, Jutt, and a Western Screech Owl by the number of 47-2. The four owls proceeded to defeat the patrol who had chased Digger with the assistance of Hortense's eagles, Streak and Zan. Digger gave up his search after the eagles told him of his parents' deaths. From that moment on, all four owls swore a silent oath to be a band forevermore and flew off into the night to continue their quest to find the Guardians of…

In the fictional novel Hoot written by Carl Hiaasen, Mullet Fingers is intelligent. “Escaping from a juvenile hall Mullet Fingers used Dana as a decoy”(286-287). This proves Mullet fingers intelligence because escaping from a juvenile hall Mullet Fingers realizes that Dana is a slow brute so the police would be more interested in Dana. Another analysis is while Mullet Fingers is escaping he saw that Dana could not keep up with him so the police would go after Dana not him. The other piece of evidence is “ In the house Mullet Fingers with Beatrice's assistance Mullet Fingers escapes out of the house while his mom and dad are fighting”(285-286). Something noticeable in this quote was in the house Mullet Fingers used his intelligence by escaping while his mom and dad were fighting. This proves his intelligence because only an intelligent person would do that.…

One of the things that are different are that it talks about Bernard building his gang in battle school. Another example is that it introduces Bean when dragon army was rebooted in the book, but in the movie, Bean was introduced in the beginning. The final example is that in the movie, Ender found the queen after the battle near the base, in the book Ender finds the queen at the bugger planet that they were colonizing after a few years. This is how the book and the movie is very different from each other.…

The book and movie have many differences. This is some of the book differences. When James called Bella to meet him at the ballet she sneaked away differently. She runs away from Alice and Jasper in the Phoenix airport bathroom into the parking lot. Another difference is when Bella, Jessica and Angela goes to Port Angeles to pick out dresses. Since Bella decides not to go to the dance she leaves and plans to meet them at dinner. But, she gets lost on the way and gets followed by four man. In the book Bella faints in biology class because they are working with blood. But that scene isn't mentioned in the movie. The fourth book difference is when Bella gets ready for prom. In the book Alice helps her get ready for it, at the Cullens house. The…

The characters in the novel and movie differ, yet have some similarities. There are the officers, Sam, Virgil and Bill, who are the same people in the novel and movie but have many differences. Some people in the book aren’t even in the movie or have different names which makes quite a difference, especially if they had relationships with people in the movie. For example, in the novel, Chief Gillespie is tall and well built, and in the movie he is short, chubby, and always chewing gum really loudly. Another example is Virgil Tibbs, he is humble and rarely talks back in the novel, “Sam took immediate command. ‘On your feet, black boy,’ he ordered, and crossed the room in five quick steps.”(15) But in the movie, Virgil talks back almost every single time someone talks rude to him, and he is also rude in the movie about some things. Sam Wood and Virgil Tibbs become good friends in the novel, but in the movie Sam and Virgil don’t even become friends, but Virgil and Chief Gillespie became good friends. In the novel the victim’s name is Enrico Mantoli and in the movie he is called Cobert. “Ten minutes later, the body of Maestro Enrico Mantoli was brought in.”(24) In the…

Another noticeable change in the movie verses the book was the emphasis on the different characters. The main character was indisputably Michael Oher in both the book and the movie. However, the movie put a strong emphasis on Leigh Anne Touhy (who was played by Sandra Bullock) and presented her as the second most major character aside from Michael. The book, on the other hand, had a lot more facts about Sean that the movie never presented. Leigh Anne was a key player in both, but in the movie, she seemed to be so much more of a main character that the other characters that stood out in the book did not do so in the movie. The major example of that was Sean Touhy who seemed to be the first one to invest in Michael in the book unlike the movie where he played a more quiet and uninvolved role in Michael's life. There were other subtle differences that could be noticed, like having the necessary GPA for an NCAA scholarship be 2.5 (movie) instead of 2.56 (book) which led to another problem to work around, or having Michael's fight be with the gang members in his old neighborhood (movie) instead of with one of his teammates at Ole Miss (book). Overall, however, the movie attempted to portray an accurate account of the book which made it enjoyable to read and watch both.…

Beatrice and Hero are complete opposites to each other. One of the ways is by their personality, Beatrice is known for her fiery personality and happens to be outstandingly loyal, whilst Hero is quiet and doesn’t seem to care about much. “Sweet Hero! She is wronged, She is slandered, She is undone” (Shakespeare 75). Beatrice was outraged by Hero’s shaming so much that she started crying. Beatrice was so uneasy about this that she went as far as to order Benedick to kill Claudio. Beatrice is very…

Another important event I realized was different, was the fact that when Simon, Ralph and Jack, in the book, go looking for the beast, it is dark, which can explain why Ralph cannot see that the “beast” is actually a man whereas in the film this important event happens in broad daylight which is not very credible from a spectator’s point of view.…
