Venn diagrams are very useful in the education world. Teachers have used Venn diagrams to a multitude of ways. What is a Venn diagram? “Venn diagram, named after the Englishman John Venn, who used such diagrams to illustrate ideas in logic.” (Billstein, Libeskind, & Lott, 2010, p. 85). A Venn diagram is a drawing, in which circular areas represent groups of items usually sharing common properties. The drawing consists of two or more circles, each representing a specific group or set. One circle is set A, the other set B. Where the two circles meet is a subset of set A and B. This section is called the intersection. The intersection is where answers that contain both A and B properties are found. Venn diagrams are used to show relationships, to answer math word problems,

The kids where asked if they had a pet. Out of the 100 kids, 30 answer they had only a cat, 40 answered they had only a dog, 10 kids said they had both. Region A will be for the kids who had only a cat, region B will be for the kids who had only a dog, and region C will account for the number of kids who had both. To obtain the correct answers we must first start with the number of kids who said they had both a cat and a dog, put that answer in region C. Next we look at region A, the number of kids who said they only had a cat was 30 but 10 of the 30 is already accounted for so the answer would be 20. Next work within region B, 40 kids said they had a dog, but C overlaps with B so that gives is 10 of the 40 and leaves us with 30. Next I would ask the kids to add all the regions and to tell me the answer? This does not add up to 100, why do you suppose that is? What is the remaining number of kids that did not have a pet? Where do you think we should place this

We had four periods a day and first period started at 7:45 and we was on a block schedule meaning our classes was an hour and thirty minutes long. We had the same classes everyday so more learning during the day and less homework. Immediately after school we had football practice four days a week and played on Fridays. High school Is a good preparation for college, even though while in high school you will never expect what happens in college. In high school your parents were more involved in what go on in your daily life, whether you get in trouble in class or you get sick at lunch.…

Saint José Ramón Agustín Pro Juárez, also known as Saint Miguel Pro, was born on January 13, 1891, in Guadalupe, Mexico. He was one of eleven children, the oldest boy. Sadly, four of his siblings died as babies or young children. From an early age, he was heartily spiritual, as well as mischievous; he constantly entertained his family with his humor and practical jokes. St. Miguel was a dauntless child and sometimes took his pranks and fun too far, putting him in several near-death mishaps. The third oldest in his family, St. Miguel was unquestionably very close with his older sister. After she entered a convent at age 20, he started to recognize his own calling to the priesthood. Though his father wanted him to continue with the family business, Miguel lived for God and entered the Jesuit novitiate in El Llano, Michoacán in 1911. He had been studying with the Jesuit priests for only a year when a religious revolution broke out in Mexico and by 1914, the Jesuits were forced to flee the country.…

Daniel Tammett is an extraordinary person in more ways than one. He has savant syndrome, which in itself is extremely rare. Savants have skills such as superior memory, lightening calculation, calendar calculating, musical ability, artistic ability, and/or language ability. Daniel has many of these. Daniel also has a “visual, emotional experience of numbers” (2) called synesthesia, which is also “a rare neurological mixing of the senses” (2), and on top of those two disorders, he also has Asperger’s syndrome. Having one of those can be so debilitating that it can be extremely hard to function in the world, but having three?? If someone were to say they had those disorders, it would be assumed that he/she would be living in a hospital because they would need help with daily living. Daniel is strong though, and he never let any of his disorders keep him down. That is a unique thing about him.…
