Mt. Rushmore: The Four Greatest Presidents
One of the United States many national monuments is Mount Rushmore. A historical place with the four heads of the different presidents. Mt. Rushmore was made to recognise the four greatest presidents.
Mount Rushmore did not always have a name it was just a mountain that is until a new york attorney went to visit the mountain. He asked what they called the mountain and they said that there is not name for the mountain. So they decided to name it after the attorney, Charles E. Rushmore. Even though Mt. Rushmore had the presidents faces according to the sculpture there was supposed to be faces of Native Americans instead of president.

Although it does not look like there was not too much thought into the design of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, there was actually an extreme amount of thought put into it. One end of the memorial points to Washington Monument that represents the first president of the US. The other end of the Memorial points to the Lincoln Memorial which not only represent another president but where other historical events took place. Its shape can be left up to your interpretation; two long rectangular walls come together to form an angle or maybe half of a diamond. The walls are made of black marble that give off a mirror like reflection. “To find one name, chances are you will see the others close by, and you will see yourself reflected through them.” (Lin, 2000) The momorial was built and created to keep the focus on those that gave the ultimate sacrifice for this nation, not to focus on the war, and that is why only names were put on the wall.…

“Ulysses S. Grant’s mausoleum is the largest tomb on the continent of North America.” (Aronson, p.78). Now formally known as General Grant National Memorial it is located in New York, NY. The architectural design on the tomb is very eye catching with many of Ulysses’ moments in history engraved on the rock itself or on mosaic glass panels. The panels show events like when he was a graduate of West Point , and the wars he served in which include the Mexican War, Civil War, Battle of Vicksburg and Chattanooga. One of the other panels show General…

“It is better to be defeated standing for high principle than to run by committing subterfuge,”1 is a quote by Grover Cleveland, which personifies his morals, and that he will never compromise them just for victory. Because of this and other reasons Grover Cleveland is the greatest president that America can boast when nerds get together to talk about great leaders in history. Unfortunately, except among Libertarians, Grover Cleveland is only known today for being the only president to serve two non-consecutive terms. He was born in New York to Puritan Parents. He did later leave the church, but the values instilled in the former president by his parent never left him. Later he became the mayor of Buffalo, and then, due to his impressive character, governor of New York. After this achievement…

RMS has reviewed the analysis provided on the 2 loans reference below that either Rushmore and/or counsel allowed the redemption in an amount well below the approved bid. Prior to winning the presidential election in 1828, Andrew Jackson and John Quincy Adams shared deep hatred for each other. When Jackson won the presidential election, his popularity created the age of Jacksonian democracy. It replaced the Jeffersonian democracy, where Jefferson had created a nation governed by middle and upper-class educated property holders. Jackson was a symbol of an age because he represented the common man, was a beloved hero and was a leader who shared similar prospective as the American people.…

The first five presidents faced many major issues and events during their presidency. As a result of their even being an idea of a presidency; and this word is new to the Americans, it had many setbacks for the first five presidents. The word presidency was new in the Americas so nobody exactly knew how it would work, or what should be done to build it up, this is also what caused problems for the first five presidents, because they had to build up the term president, and work most things out for themselves. The newly made Americans had just fought the revolutionary war and escaped a monarchy where they felt they weren’t free, they were afraid that their self-made government would get too strong and treat them the same way that the British…

Mt. Rushmore is one of America’s most recognized national monuments, sporting the faces of 4 of our nation’s greatest presidents: Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Theodore Roosevelt, and Thomas Jefferson. If I were to reconstruct Mt. Rushmore with faces of my choosing, I would choose to put 4 of my favorite people in the whole world: Nicolas Cage, Ryan Seacrest, Ivan Doroschuk, and Alana “Honey Boo-Boo” Thompson.…

"I am as happy nowhere else and in no other society, and all my wishes end, where I hope my days will end, at Monticello," wrote Thomas Jefferson the great architect of his home, Monticello. His home of 54 years was named Monticello which means "little mountain" in Italian. Many still question the reasoning for the name "Monticello." The only reasoning that was come up with was that Jefferson wanted to build his home on his mountain located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia near Charlottesville. He wanted a place that was private and away from civilization and the commotion of politics.…

    Lighthouse of Alexandria

Illustrious memory of that great era was for many centuries, the famous lighthouse of Alexandria. Sailing near the coast, on foggy days and at night, made necessary the placement of large permanent fixtures in certain ports and cables on the Mediterranean coast. At the time the deal is for just one of the most important works of the ancients, considered in those days as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. I mean the great lighthouse of Alexandria. It seems that this name should be the beacon of the small island where they raised at the entrance of the harbor, and later served to name the sites and devices that have since been constructed for the same purpose. Pliny and other ancient authors describe the magnificent building which was built northwest of the island of Pharos, during the reign of Ptolemy Philadelphus, in the years 285 to 247 BC. Its builder was Sostratos of Cnidus, son of Dimócrates, who, in turn, had been an architect of Alexander. (Ministry of culture).…
