Course Synopsis
Organizational vision and mission, behaviour of people and corporate culture, organisational structures and change, functions and activities of human resource management, financial management, key marketing concepts, engineering and the legal aspects, entrepreneurship, management of technological innovation and management from Islamic perspective.
Course Objectives
The objectives of this course are to:
1. Emphasise qualitative aspects of engineering management.
2. Explain the elements of human resource management, leadership and motivation.
3. Develop basic understanding of financial management.
4. Introduce concepts of marketing and entrepreneurship and legal issues.
5. Provide understanding on Islamic aspects of management and finance.
Learning outcomes
After completion of the course the students should be able to:
1. Comprehend the behavior of people in the context of corporate culture
2. Conduct performance appraisal for effective utilization of human resources
3. Apply the concept of organizational structures and handle organizational change
4. Prepare financial statement and apply appropriate techniques for investment
5. Explain modern marketing concepts and legal issues.
6. Recognize the importance of entrepreneurship and the essence of management from Islamic perspective.
