Tourism Statistics, 2012, IV. Quarter and Annual Results
Tourism income increased by 17.2% compared to IV. quarter of previous year
In the fourth quarter; which is October, November and December months of 2012, tourism income increased by 17.2% and reached $ 6 107 152 thousand. While 75.1% of this income was obtained from foreign visitors, 24.9% was obtained from citizens resident abroad.
Visitors organise their travel individually or with package tour. While individual expenditures constituted
$ 5 205 835 thousand of the total tourism income, $ 901 317 thousand of tourism income was obtained by package tour expenditures.
Tourism income in 2012 increased by 1.8% and reached $ 23 440 436 thousand compared to the previous year. While 77.9% of this income was obtained from foreign visitors, 22.1% was obtained from citizens resident abroad.
In this year, while individual expenditures constituted $ 18 799 085 thousand of the total tourism income, $ 4 641 351 thousand of tourism income was obtained by package tour expenditures.

Average expenditure of the visitors was $ 795 per capita
In this quarter while the average expenditure of the foreigners was $ 695 per capita, average expenditure of the Turkish citizens resident abroad was $ 1 397 per capita.
In this year, while the average expenditure of the foreigners was $ 577 per capita, average expenditure of the Turkish citizens resident abroad was $ 1 012 per capita.

Number of departing visitors increased by 3.5%
In this quarter number of departing visitors increased 3.5% compared to same quarter of previous year and reached to 7 681 904. While number of foreign visitors was 6 592 034, number of Turkish citizens resident abroad was 1 089 870.
