Essay #4 is a take home essay that looks at Science and Technology. This section trains students how to persuade audiences to adhere to a given position through consensus building. Students need to write an essay that follows a Rogerian Model, which emphasizes the need to find a common ground.
More specifically, it trains students to identify specific biases and action statements to convince an audience to follow a specific position. You will need to identify an issue that focuses on science and technology and develop an argument that presents a mediated solution. In addition, you need to use one of the following articles as a source. *These articles are available online or print.
