Mr Ecuher Bully
I remember not saying anything back but I do remember that powerful feeling of pride that I carried with me the next couple of days. I stood up when I was being oppressed by someone who I had just met. I didn’t let a person do something I felt was wrong get away with it. I had acted on a situation, just as my parents had done in example their whole lives in front of me.
That day I wore a hat with a chinstrap and a light fall jacket that I always seemed to take off at some point before I returned home. That crisp autumn day, all of the neighbor kids went over to Mr. and Mrs. Ecuhers and brought along with them their rakes. Mr. Ecuher was a kind old man who had the biggest and oldest tree in the neighborhood. It was an ancient maple tree that looked like a sherbet popsicle when the leaves would change colors fading from red at the bottom, through orange, to yellow on top. Every year the neighborhood kids would go over to Mr. Ecuhers and make the biggest pile of leaves.
My best friend Griffin who lived directly behind me came too and brought with him his friend that he was having over from school. The kid looked like a bully at first sight. He had a big round head that sat atop a pair of

He was mean, he was ugly, and he was big. But he pushed a girl and that was something my parents made sure I understood. No matter what any of my sisters did to me, I was not to ever harm a girl. His nostrils were widened while he sniffed laughing at Mary on the ground. His big head was turning just when I reached him. I jumped up to his face, throwing all of my anger behind one punch. I struck gold! His nose started bleeding immediately. He fell to the ground cupping his face as blood leaked through his fingers. I could hear muffled sobs as he laid there weeping. He deserved worse even though. He made my best friend turn on me, ruined my fun when he tramped through the pile of leaves, and hurt my favorite niece

One day at recess, I climbed all the way to the top just like I always did, and I looked all around me at the kids playing on the playground. They were all laughing and running around having fun. I wonder when it will be time to go back inside? I thought. Just then a loud noise filled the playground.…

His mom would do horrible things to him, things that no one should ever have done to them. She made him drink ammonia, burn his arm on a gas stove, starve him, whip him, throw him down stairs. She wanted him dead; she would try to freeze him in ice cold baths and mix chemicals together and force him to breathe them in, resulting in him throwing up blood. She once even stabbed him in the stomach with a knife and never took him to the hospital or anything. She was a horrible person and until the day she died she did not regret anything she did to him.…

The year was 1953. It was a cool, crisp twenty-ninth of October. Usually, after their chores and homework were done, Kathy, 8, and her brother Jonathan, 15, along with their friend May, 11, and her cousin Adam, 13, all went to Joe’s Arcade, the local hangout of Leaport, North Carolina. Instead, they all decided to meet at the end of their dead end street, Farrow Avenue, and go for a walk through the woods. They were all bored since the arcade was too crowded and supper wasn’t ready yet. Their town was a small town, so there wasn’t any other places to go besides the woods. Plus, the old, burned O’Leary house was out there.…

In the face of conflict, a victim's courage can inspire people. A victim’s strengths and courage when faced with conflict is highly admirable to those around them, it can urge other individuals to anticipate change and step up towards the issue or from their negativity. Initially, I did not have that much knowledge of the Rodney King beating. I have heard of the event on multiple occasions and the brutality that came about after the trial verdict. I only had knowledge of King being an African American man who was beaten by white officers. I didn’t know he was speeding and that it led to a police chase. As to the riots, I had known of the protests and the violent outbreaks against the verdict of the officers. Hearing of Los Angeles people stand up against such a case as King’s gave me a good feeling. I strongly disagree with any form of prejudice acts and knowing that people from such a mixed city stood against it as well made me happy.…

Today, May 4th 1961, we are leaving Washington D.C. in protest of or civil rights to desegregate bus rides. We are heading out to New Orleans where our protest is just the beginning of what we are striving for in order to bring equality to the human race. Not only do I feel nervous and scared, I feel proud for I am standing up to what I believe is right and so one day my children will be able to have a white friend and not be judged by the color of their skin. I feel scared for if I do not succeed then my children will also have to fight this fight that is outrageous and unfair to our unalienable rights. And so the journey begins.…

“You is smart. You is beautiful. You is strong.” For a couple of years my mom would playfully cite to me her version of the famous lines from the movie “The Help” in hopes that it would inspire me as an African American woman. At the time I was nearly 10 and frankly I brushed off every word my mom said because I looked around me and didn’t feel comfortable in my own skin. It took me sometime to realize that my mother’s words would forever stay with me and empower me. Especially when I met adversaries that would try to make me feel small for who I am.…

It was August 28, 1963. Mom was yelling and holding up her “Martin Luther King, a liar, a troublemaker” sign. Next to her were my brother and my dad, they just mumbled and cursed. While everyone cheered and jumped for joy when Dr. King uttered the words, “I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood”, it was like my whole family rolled their eyes simultaneously. All but me, I was the only one who thought that every man should have equal rights regardless of their race, beliefs, gender (etc…). I sided with the rest of the people at the Lincoln Memorial who believed in equal rights.…

Some employers may be working with a bully, and not even know it. The Office Bully by Kathryn Hawkins mentions virtuous points of this concept. The issue with bullies is when you think you have escaped from them, they can ultimately return and become your boss. Although you may think they have potentially matured and progressed as people, they are actually still stagnant in an oppressing manner. In my opinion, they will use whatever power they have against you, especially if they become your boss. Kathryn Hawkins mentions alerting and effective arguments in this article. She mentions Carole’s personal experience to create an informative virtue. Bullying is a form of aggression that affects others and it could be verbal, emotional, or even physical bullying. Perhaps it’s because of psychological issues as a child that may force them to become antagonistic, or to compensate for there own insecurities.…
