Mount Unzen Research Paper

Mount Unzen is a group of active stratovolcanoes located in in Nagasaki Prefecture on the biggest island to the South in Japan. This island is known as Kyushu. Mount Unzen grew over time, as it erupted several times thousands of years ago. The cooled lava and other minerals the volcano released during the eruptions piled up and the volcano grew more each time a new layer of cooled lava was added. In 1792 Mount Unzen erupted, the eruption caused an earthquake. That earthquake created a landslide which caused a 330 ft. tsunami . About 14,600 people died, mostly because of the tsunami.
