Monteclair Personal Statement
When I first went to visit Montclair I noticed something that I had not seen at many other campuses. The opportunity to be involved in many different clubs and sports is tremendous. I am also interested in the computer science program. Being able to grow up in a generation where computers and technology are growing more and more each day to assist human life really set an interest in me from a young age. It excited me to live in a generation like this where so many people’s hardships can be fixed with a skill that I can learn from attending a school like Montclair. Lastly, I believe the new building being built will give me an advantage of hands on learning in relation to my peers at other higher education institutions.
One of my biggest strengths academically is to be able to overcome hardships. This has been my strength not only in my academics but also to my actual life. In my family there are a lot of medical problems that we face. Luckily I have missed out on all of them. As for my mother, sister, brother, and step-father they have not been as lucky. My mother has brain tumors that cause her to have episodes of fainting that

As I will have to face high level math courses and computer science related classes that would be very difficult for the average person. I understand that I will need to use my ability to overcome challenging obstacles to manage my time to succeed in the Computer Science program. With my strength I am more than confident that I will be able to overcome those obstacles that others would face.
My ability to overcome hardships will apply well at Montclair State University in my degree I wish to receive. Computer Science is a challenging field but, I am confident that my life experiences will help me succeed in college and throughout my career. With the opportunity to get involved I think it will make my difficult experiences with my family easy to cope

This has allowed me to become a more compassionate and accepting person to others. It also led me to discover that I wanted to peruse a career in child psychology. Another perspective I can bring deals with my involvement in theater. I have been involved in theater ever since I was in third grade. I agree with my strengths that I have compassion. I feel that I am a very compassionate person. I truly enjoy working with and helping people. My compassion is the main reason that I have chosen to work in the healthcare field. Even though my work has not exactly been hands on medical treatment to patients it has always been the work of making sure patients are getting the quality care and respect that they deserve. Another strength I possess is that I see clearly and use my head. I always trust my gut and feel that I am in tune with myself and have the ability to stop and interpret my instincts. In other words I have good judgment and trust my judgment. I also concur that I live out my role of responsibility. When I complete any work, regardless what the work is and it has my name on it I am going to complete it thoroughly and with pride. First, I have to talk about my strengths. I see myself as a very oriented person who is always thriving for the best. According to Eleanor Roosevelt, “You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face…Do the thing you think you cannot do” ("Just quotes "). I am always trying to do the best that I can to achieve my goals no matter how hard they seem to be sometimes. I am a hard worker, and I believe that I will be more likely to accomplish my goals if I keep doing the best that I can. I do not let things affect me that easily and I make sure that I am always focused both at school, and at work. Another one of my strengths is listening to people’s advice. I especially love to listen to my parents’ critics because I believe that they are better advisors compared to other people. I would add that I kind of prefer my mother’s advices because as a woman, she easily understands anything I am going through in life. I am also very strong mentally and psychologically. Moreover, I am very generous because I really like to help other people in need. I am always willing to give some money to homeless people, and I participated to a few community services back in my home country of Ivory Coast.…
