Racism has been present in this country even before it was transformed into the United States of America. It gives us an idea of how long racism has been around, and sadly it is still present today. Modern racism is an indirect form of prejudice that bring negative feelings about a minority group but not the traditional stereotypes. An opinion that is not based on an actual reason or experience, but simply an assumption. The main difference between racism from the past and modern racism is that it is more difficult to see and point out. It is believed to create an image that seems more politely correct, sort of like a “polite” form of racism.
