Modern Day Hero
When you head the word 'hero' most people picture a buff man, wearing a cape; like Superman and Batman. A hero can be anyone from a family member to someone in the community. I believe my mother can be portrayed as a hero. She volunteers in her spare time, is a teacher, and is a friend to everyone she meets.

My mother has a tendency to volunteer for anything, but it's usually within the school she works at. Before we moved here, she was head of the P.T.A., always finding ways to raise money for the school. She even got a new playground for the school so the kids could enjoy recess without having to worry about injuries. She has also organized many walk-a-thons for kids with Autism at her school. She takes action and is really god in what she does.

My mother is also a teacher. She teaches kids with Autism, which I think is great. Especially because she has a lot of patience with those kids. She teaches each kids one-on-one, at their own pace. She takes her time to make sure that each student has an understanding of what is going on. She also makes a connection to her students' families, and makes sure the parents are involved with their child. She is really good at what she does.

My mother can befriend anyone she meets. You can be a complete stranger and she will compliment you, no matter what. This one time we were at shopping at the mall when we saw this lady drop $100 on the floor. My initial thought was to keep it, but then my mother picked it up and gave it back to the lady. In return, the lady brought us all a coffee. Leason being, what goes around comes around.

Most people think of hero's as someone famous and important. I believe my mother is a hero for many reasons. She's a teacher, can befriend a complete stranger, and loves to volunteer. In my eyes, my mother is what I call a hero.

He had been the first African American to play in the Major League Baseball. He had played for the Brooklyn Dodgers. They played him and they had ended racial segregation.…

Everyone has a different definition of a hero. Mine is a person who has impacted my life, or lives in general. They are selfless and genuine people who care about others more than themselves. A hero has no gender, size, or age. Anyone is capable of being a hero, but it’s very rare to find someone who possesses all of the qualities. People like a war veteran, a public figure, or an everyday person are all people who fit my definition of a hero. Irena Sendler, Tyler Joseph, and my mom are prime examples of what I think a hero is and should…

The term hero is used for many different reasons. A hero can sometimes be someone who protects the community and save lives such as policemen. A hero can also be someone in the military who risk their lives to fight for our country. Another hero could be someone who saves their team from losing in a sports match or someone who just helps the community and is a selfless individual. A hero is really someone who does greater than what they are expected to do and decides to hurt themselves until they physically or mentally go any further to make a difference in the world. The term hero does not just come to someone because they do something benevolent to the community or someone else. The term hero is something that one has to earn by pushing oneself over the limit. Daoud Hari is a prime example of a hero because he went where no other man in Darfur was willing to go. Another example of a hero is Martin Luther King Jr. because he surpassed what was expected of him and eventually died because of helping the world for a better place. Martin Luther King helped the world to not judge people by the color of their skin. Martin Luther King did not need to do this at all, but because of him doing something to change the world for a better place…
