It is normal to find industries that make wise decisions, but there is also the possibility that the decisions taken have not been the best. The mission as marketing managers is to discover the wise decision that would mark not only within the industry, but also in the market with the purpose of repeating that decision in a clever and a systematic way. Redbox creates their new brainchild in 2002 McDonald's Ventures, LLC. The original idea was that two important services were combined in the movie rental business: that the late payment charges would only be $2.00 fee additionally charged at the time of rental. The important strategy to which is referred to is called the blue ocean strategy, which mean a real challenge for the business. Redbox began with hundreds of kiosks instead of the handfuls. The primary purpose of the blue ocean strategy is to create safe spaces in the market, where the big concern is to decrease sharing the demand by increasing the size of it furthermore setting aside the competition. Redbox product and service is considered a blue ocean move and because they were the first to introduce a new way of renting that saved consumers lots of late fees. Redbox rental includes more than 3 billion discs; they are America's top choice for video games and movies. Currently with 35,900 locations nationwide near every corner, Redbox is the fastest and easiest way to rent the top new release and family video games. They are ahead of the game because they feature over 200 titles, fully automated video rental store which only take up 12-square feet of retail space.
