Mission Bay: A Short Story
It was the beginning of my senior year, at Mission Bay high school, the last year of highschool for me and my friends to live out our lives before we move on to college and a whole new ball game. As I walk through the double doors leading into the crazy hallways of Mission Bay I spotted my friends all talking outside of our first hour class, Spanish III. I walk over to them and joined into the conversation of last years and legacies they wanted to leave on the students. My friends and I were the 100th graduating class to come from that high school, so everyone expected us to come up with something great to leave behind.
The bell rings and all of us headed into class with the one of best teacher ever. Her name was Mrs. Garcia and she was not

Garcia to ask her a few questions. From what I overheard, he had ask her what the first trip was all about and who had suggested the place Niagara Falls. When he finally got the answers to his questions, he started to walk over to me and my friends, I got this feeling in my stomach and I didn't realize what it was until he was standing right next to where I was sitting.
" I like the idea for the Niagara Falls trip, it sure beats Washington D.C. and California any day." Dreek stated with a sort of laughing tone to his voice.
I didn't know what to say, it was almost like I had lost my voice and couldn't move.
" Thanks." I quickly said just as the bell had rung. I picked up my stuff and fast walked out of the classroom. That is when I knew that I was falling for our schools high school star baseball player.
The school had made an announcement that said that our senior trip had been accepted and that it would be on May 15th and it would only last three days. It was August 4th, and there was a total of almost 260 days until the trip of a lifetime would arrive. I was counting down the days that would eventually lead up to the trip of a lifetime. The trip was four days away and I was excited as ever, this is the first thing I have done on my own, this is finally a sense of freedom for

It was going to be a short ride only about 4 hours altogether through the South Dakota mountains. About an hour into our ride, we reached the mountains and as soon as we did Brody, Eli, Maddy, and I rode our horses to the top of the mountains. When we reached the top of the mountains we got off our horses and looked out over the South Dakota scenery, it was a beautiful view. I have never seen a better view in my life. You could see so far since we were up so high in the air and when we looked down at Tommy and Cassie they looked like ants. After we took a few pictures we headed back down to Tommy and Cassie. We went a little further after we got down from the mountain and then we turned back and headed towards camp. We arrived back at camp we washed, fed, and watered the horses. When we were done with that stuff we made a fire and started carving on sticks for a competition we were having and then at about 11 we went to…

Do you remember the day of your high school graduation? When everyone stood outside in their caps and gowns, and the proud feeling filling in the air. I remember the day I graduated very well because it’s my favorite moment in my life. My favorite photo of my friend and I is framed next to my diploma that sits on my desk. Whenever I see that photo I’m reminded of the emotions I felt: happy, proud, and relaxed.…

The next day Brian picked me up at exactly 8:00 in the morning from the Leavenworth's townhouse and took me to see the statue of Liberty. We purchase tickets to a show in Central Park for that evening and went shopping at Macy's. We went to Wall Street and walked around Central Park. Brian was charming an attentive. He was delightful, generous and sexy as fuck. I think Mary told me he was 26 years old.…

After that, we decided to meet up at Mooney’s Bay at three o’clock sharp. This was my first winter in Canada and I felt quite nervous about tobogganing. I was in second grade at the time and I was terribly afraid of the possibility of injuring myself. It was a hard decision, but I knew I had to go tobogganing one way or another, so I decided to go with Henry to Mooney’s Bay.…

"Class, this is Alberto and he will be joining our class for this last month of the school year," the teacher yelled as I stood next to her puzzled and embarrassed. For a few hours, I plainly sat in my chair without saying a word, reflecting on my already missed memories of school in Rhode Island, until another student named Luis approached me. Of course, I was expecting him to say something in Spanish, but shockingly he spoke to me in English. Without hesitation, I responded to him and we quickly became close friends.…

Out of all experiences I've had, the one that has been meaningful to me is taking my last yearbook pictures for my senior year. I wasn't taking pictures for a mugshot and a crime scene photographer wasn’t taking pictures of my lifeless body. I reached a milestone in my life that many people told me I couldn’t achieve. Though I hadn’t walked across the stage for graduation yet, it felt good to do something that many people told me I wouldn’t ever experience being a young black girl in America. The reason why this specific moment was meaningful to me is because it made me think about the many people my age who never got to experience this; the feeling of being ALMOST done with high school. I could've been like many African American people my…

I’ve gotten involved in school activities, community service, and school events and a lot more. I felt that once I graduated from school I would be able to get involved with continuing education even more.…

One warm summer day my family was frantically rushing to gather all our belongings for a week long adventure out west. We were trying our best to squeeze every item in the car; finally we were ready to depart from home. I was just fourteen years of age at the time and had never been more than a few states away. The ride there was beyond exciting, but extra long. I believe most of that was due to the anticipation of when we would finally reach the great state of Colorado.…
