CSQ #1:
What kinds of application are described here?
What business functions do they support?
How do they improve operational efficiency and decision making?

ChainLinq Mobile is an application developed for drivers that updates shipment information, collects signatures, and provides global positioning system (GPS) tracking on each box it delivers. The business function that they support is the innovation. They improve their information technology to become more competitive and to monitor the business efficiency.

CSQ #2: Identify the problems that businesses in this case study solved by using mobile digital devices.

The problem are how can they run the business out of your pocket and how they can received and delivered the information of the customers.

CSQ #3: What kinds of businesses are most likely to benefit from equipping their employees with mobile digital devices such as iPhones, iPads, and BlackBerrys?

All business, because employees need to communicated to each other for the better result in every operation they do.

CSQ #4: D.W Morgan’s CEO has started, “The iPhones is not a game changer, it’s an industry changer. It changes the way that you can interact with your customers and with your suppliers.” Discuss the implication of this statement.

This statement says that iPhone are not for gaming but for the industry or for business. Because it is made for communication.

2.0 MIS IN ACTION

Explore the Web site for the Apple iPhone, the Apple iPad, the BlackBerrys, and Motorola Droid, and then answer the following questions:

1. List and describe the capabilities of each of these devices and give examples of how they could be used by businesses.

These technologies are turns into a web browser, a telephone, a camera, music or video player, an email and messaging machine. It could be customized and optimized with strong security for a certain business. These technologies received and delivered message or email wherever you are. It’s used to communicate to each other, to document anything that’s happen, to monitor the business, to collect information and etc.

2. List and describe three downloadable business applications for each device and describe their business benefits.

Salesforce, iTimeSheet and WebEx are one of the downloadable business applications that can be used in business. A global web-based software and cloud computing company best known for its customer relationship management (CRM) product. Salesforce was specializes in software as a service (SaaS) to help users handle all of their business needs like managing marketing campaigns, analyzing performance, and tracking spending and sales. ITimeSheet is a poweful timesheet application that helps you track time spent of projects. The objective of iTimeSheet is to allow you to record your daily activities in less than 3 minutes thanks to a smart interface. And last, WebEx is a company that provides on-demand collaboration, online meeting, web conferencing and videoconferencing applications.
