Minions: The Yellow Followers
October 27, 2013
The Yellow Followers These followers are yellow little cylindrical creatures who have one or two eyes. Some are tall, some are short, some have hair and others don’t. Many of them are thin, and many are round in shape. Most of these little creatures are dressed the same way. They are dressed in blue apparel with an emblem in the middle. Wearing gray metal circles around their eyes to help with their visions. They are indestructible and almost superhero like. They can survive without oxygen and glow in the dark.
These small cylindrical creatures enjoy constructing stuff, watching small fluffy and big eared animal, and they also love to laugh. Something else that they love to do is to play with the daughters of their creator. Things they dislike are being left confused, and not having their questions answered. They also dislike being unsure of themselves. Overall they enjoy everything that they see and do.
These little small creatures are very impulsive and have little self-control. They are filled with curiosity and innocence. All of them are very friendly and loving, and they love to have fun. They are fiercely loyal to their creator, and extremely eager to please him and his assistant. Although they are small and innocent, they are very intelligent. They are capable of constructing very dangerous gadgets, operating those gadgets, and using a square machine that knows everything and keeps everything safe and secure. These little creatures can also maneuver a big machine that has four circles and that rolls around which help them travel from place to place. They express themselves through actions, and not words. They speak in a very bizarre language which combines words that we use. For example papples to them are round and red, they are smooth on the outside and rough on the inside. Papples are juicy, crunchy, and very scrumptious. These smart little creatures can understand many languages and combine they’re jabber into the language.

Later on in the passage the creature learns to avoid unpleasant feelings and knows how to get around them. For instance, when feeling hungry he searches for food just as an infant has a natural reflex to suckle when they are hungry. Another baby like trait the author describes is when the creature says, “I was a poor, helpless, miserable wretch; but feeling pain invades me on all sides, I sat down and wept.” When feeling helpless babies cry because that is the only way they can express their emotions. The creature is expressing himself by crying because there is no other way he is able to.…

    2. The children think, act, and disobey together. They do everything as a group so their characteristics are very similar. Both are spoiled, disobedient, and impulsive. They are so used to having whatever they want that when their parents threatened to turn off the machines, they killed them. They shift their loyalties to whoever gives them what they want and possesses no thoughts for other’s feelings. They are extremely disobedient and listens to no one. Even when George pleaded that they, “Open the door!” they stubbornly allow the lions to do their jobs. They are impulsive and acts on the moment with no long-term planning. They never thought about whether the machines would break someday or whether Mr. McClean would turn it off. This would leave them with no ways to feed themselves. They never thought about how maybe someday…

Both were clueless of the world around them and, after going through difficult situations, changed into the monsters people treated them as. These two creatures were curious of the world and all they wanted was to feel accepted by society. Society is the driving factor in these two books. Society looked at these two creatures as monsters just because of their appearances and their judgement and criticism drove these creatures to their edge. They were attacked, abused, and neglected by every individual they came in contact with. Their whole mentality changed because of this and their isolation. They became frustrated about their situations and took it out on the people that harmed them. Both could have accomplished many things in life, and could have lived in society if people did not mistreat…

This previous quote is important because it elaborates that the creature has developed the exact way a child would, “I was a poor, helpless, miserable wretch; I knew and could distinguish, nothing; but feeling pain invade me on all sides, I sat down and wept” (page 90). The creature grows and develops as a toddler would, thus making him more childlike than most beasts.…
