Mineko Case Study
I think Mineko learned about how to protect herself from bad men and she learned how to sacrifice certain things to become the best or have the life she wants. I also think she learned how to use money wisely, as it says on page. 258. I believe she decided to close the Gion Kobu in pursuit of her own interests because she said herself after Mother Sakaguchi died, she lost all interest of the Gion Kobu lifestyle and was just fed up with the entire system. (Page. 284) I don’t think I would have done the same, I mean if I was fed up with the system and Gion Kobu I would retire, but I wouldn’t close the Gion Kobu just because I didn’t like it. I would let the other geishas continue to live in the okiya and do their thing. I would just step

She might have missed the most of the objectives that related to the provider of care. This objective that you mentioned is one of the implementations of the provider of care. It is important that Sarah uses critical thinking during the clinical part because according to the case study if she receives another unsatisfactory grade in clinical portion, she will fail the course. Shortly before the Morragh Mine blew up last June, an alarm went off in the surface control room, which warned of high methane levels underground. Twenty miners were killed in the explosion at the financially troubled mine. Since the mine did not know who was on shift at the time of the explosion, many wives of the miners received phone calls that morning asking if their husbands were at home. At the time of the explosion, the mine had been under an order from the provincial labour department to establish a safety plan to prevent coal-dust explosion. The cause of the disaster was later established to have been ignition of coal dust, which was caused by an explosion of accumulated methane.…

I’ll admit, it isn’t easy at all. However, the most difficult thing for me – as a Misaskim volunteer – is the cash crunch. During the scorching heat this summer, it was hard for me to tell a father who catastrophically just lost his son that we have no air conditioners left in the warehouse. It was difficult for me to arrange a speedy burial for a מת מצוה in accordance with her wishes due to the lack of funds. It was stressful when I had to deny a יתום entrance to a חול המועד event simply because he hasn’t registered on time and we ordered a limited amount of tickets.…

I gained a better understanding of the Japanese phrase “pride above all” from Mineko’s story because it showed that when people started bullying her she kept her cool and didn’t tell anybody about it and she showed everybody that there is nothing they could do from stopping her from being the best. One example on page.183 talked about a man who humiliated Mineko by dragging her on the floor and lifting her kimono wounded her pride and she help a knife against him and told him to never ever do that to someone again. Another example, on page 177 when her Onesan, Miss K, flicked the ashes of her cigarette on Mineko’s hand. Mineko remained calm the whole time and didn’t even yell at her for doing that because of her pride. This showed how pride…

Kokoro takes place in the Meiji Ishin era which had installed a period of modernization and Westernization in Japan so hastily that the foundations of traditional Japanese thinking existed with the new Western thought. (CP 391, 701) Ishin in Japanese, references the meaning of both “restoration” and “renovation” (CP 386, 665). The influence of the Western ideals of individualism alienated the characters Sensei and K, from their own societies. These characters would otherwise have been comfortably integrated into the society that they previously had known, so this change of society and culture made each one of them agonizingly lonely in the process. After the Emperor Meiji died,…

Cultural rights are applicable universally, and are required to ensure members of states are being granted rights which support their beliefs and traditions (Symonides, 1998). Philosophical theorist, Susan Okin, associates cultural rights with control disintegration over gender equality, considering females who are subjects of inhumane treatment by members of cultures, may not appear violating human rights since they are given cultural entitlements to exercise their values. Other theorists, much like Will Kymilcka, defend the notion of cultural rights based on the importance of enforcing individual autonomy, and by overlooking the protection of cultural rights, states are neglecting to uphold individual autonomy and freedom of groups to maintain…
