Food is something that everyone has in common. It is a topic that is referred to often in conversation. Friendships can be made based on two or more peoples interests in foods. Some people like to challenge their taste buds and explore outrageous flavors, while others stay within their comfort zone and more simple goods. Starting with the first Thanksgiving, the pilgrims and the Indians, to everyday meals that people take for granted now, food is something everyone has in common. The author of this article, Brian Wansink, makes multiple valid points about what people see, taste and experience in general about food. According to “The Name Game from Mindless Eating: Why We Eat More Than We Think” through senses such as sight, taste, and the sound of brand names can alter your willingness to consume certain foods and beverages. First of all, Brian Wansink discusses how the look of food someone is about to consume is somewhat how we, as observes, tell whether or not the person consuming the food is actually enjoying it. I also think that people think that buying the more expense things tends to make people think that they are of higher importance or that they will make a bigger difference to their friends if they have more name brand things. I agree that people try too hard to try and impress others when it comes to hosting. Take when you have your in-laws over and there is always a time when it seems like nothing is going right because someone has something to say about some kind of food. I agree with a lot that this article has to say, but I don’t know about the whole buying name brand things. People over exaggerate that whole situation to the point that it really is annoying and obnoxious. Name brand things shouldn’t be a level of importance when it comes to
