According to a survey conducted in November 2005, eSchool News has found that educators nationwide have been struggling to balance administrative responsibilities and the need for them to spend more time in the classroom, in order to help students achieve higher standards. One of the answers to the No Child Left Behind era dilemma are the sophisticated software packages, designed to automate critical front and back office functions. These tools will enable educators to concentrate on their core-responsibilities: helping every single child reach her full potential, thanks to a more efficient learning environment. The applications range from student data-tracking, payroll, library management, bus routing, food-service management, to special education planning, tracking, and reporting.…

The Milgram (1963) article is about an experiment that was conducted on the Yale University campus on obedience. A newspaper ad and mailers were sent out to advertise for participants for an experiment that offered 4.50 just to show up and brought in 40 participants ranging in age, education level and occupation. The participants were told that the study had to do with memory and that one participant would be the learner and the other would be the teacher. The teacher would be responsible for shocking the learner every time that learner got a wrong answer and that each time the learner was shocked, the voltage of that shock would have to increase with the highest level of shock being clearly labeled as dangerous on the fake -but very professional looking- shocking machine. The participants did not know that the learner was a trained person working with the experimenter. Although a low amount of people were predicted to obey the experimenter in giving the more painful shocks, most participants did and over half of them administered shocks all the way up to the highest one.…

Database management is used all over the companies, educational institutions, government and private sectors around the world where we need to store and organize the data. Coming to the universities, database management is the essential part where there are large number of departments, courses and students. Student database management model provides information on student’s course schedule and their basic information. Course schedule like their major and minor names, courses names, course id, instructor names, day, time, room number, credits per course and student details like student name, addresses, contact number, date of birth, student id. Before this data is stored is books and printed on paper. If there is a change in schedule or exam it would be difficult to reach about this to the students. Now it is easy store and change information by this we can save time and paper. After the registration the course information is directly stored in the database. Now if we want to view course schedule we can simply go to database of the university and check it out and change in schedule can directly reached to mobile by text message. This is very easy model to use and we will get current data and will be secure. Therefore my design mainly focuses on 2 different users:…

Databases are used for record keeping and tracking of information institutions like colleges or organizations (Coronel & Morris, 2015). In this case, the database will be used to keep track of the students・attendance, performance and the courses they are supposed to be taking. This will help the college analyze how the students perform and which classes they least or most attend. The database will also help the college keep track of all the subjects which the student is taking or is expected to take in during the course. Instructors will also be part of the database. The database will track their performance in various subjects and their attendance in each class. The database will be upgraded at the beginning of every subject where each student will confirm their attendance for the particular subject and whether the instructor is in class as well. After an examination, all the students・performance will be…

The aim of Milgram’s 1963 study was to see how far an ordinary person would go when asked to follow orders from an authority figure, even if it meant breaking their ethical code and harming another person. There were number of aspects of Milgram’s procedure. Firstly 40 male participants aged 20-50 were chosen by a volunteer sample as they replied to a local newspaper advert which was asking for people to take part in a study at Yale. The participants were paid $4.50 an hour and were told it was a study to find out how punishment affects the memory; the study was actually about willingness to obey an authority figure. There were two actors (confederates) one experimenter and one learner (Mr Wallace). The draw was always fixed and the participant always ended up as the teacher. The learner (Mr Wallace) was then strapped into a shock generator and the experimenter and the teacher were placed in the room next to the learner, they couldn’t see the learner but they could hear him. The teacher had to give an electric shock which went up to 450v each time the learner got the answer wrong, the participants thought that the shocks were real but they were fake. The learner gave out mainly the wrong answers and their script was scripted , at 300v he pounded loudly on the wall and at 315v he stopped pounding and remained silent.…

With these problems in mind, the development of Class Scheduling System serves as one solution to those common problems we encountered. Having a system like this reduces cost of time in finding subject schedule that fits for the students. This system also aims to monitor the class list and subject’s schedule. For the Dean, it can provide them the block lists of the students enrolled to a particular subject and easily submit the records to the registrar through the network. For the Registrar, this system provides a way to monitor the students who are officially enrolled and the subjects to be added or to be dropped. And since it only needs 2 person and 2 computers to maintain this kind of system.…

Abdulla with his problem. I think that a good database is something that keeps all of the recorded data together in one place so that none of the information gets misplaced or lost, the problem with spreadsheets is that if lost it could cause for orders being placed by the teachers to be lost and the teachers will find themselves without the materials they need to conduct their class. I would also have to install a security system so that the information stored in the database can’t be accessed by just anyone, to avoid this problem I would be adding user system so that any teacher who accesses the database will have to log on to their user and access it from there as I think this will help us know if any data is deleted and can also keep track of which user/teacher has placed an order and what the teacher needs. Mr. Abdulla will also have to have a contact page where teachers can send him any special requests for the materials they order. I will also be adding a page that shows what the suppliers have in stock so that the teachers will know what they can order, it will also include a notifying system where as if a teacher needs a piece of equipment or any other material and it is out of stock, the system will automatically send a notification to the teacher telling him/her when the supplier receives the stock. The database will also alert Mr. Abdulla when a teacher places an order for something so that he knows what needs to be brought in, this system will also prevent any excess equipment being paid for as sometimes if there are more materials that have been sent and the school needs to pay more for things they didn’t order, Mr. Abdulla can prevent this as he would know what the order is and how much of it has been ordered. I also found the databases that I had researched helping me in this situation as they gave me ideas as to what I can add to improve my database even…
