Dear Mr. Anderson,
As a Business Management and Operations student at Washington State University and also a future military dependent, I have a strong desire to research and consolidate a comprehensive list of information useful for military families enduring a permanent change of station move (PCS move) from Pearl Harbor Naval Base in Hawaii, to San Diego Naval Base in California. From what I have found so far, there seems to be a lack of detailed information available for these military families, and as a result, they have had experiences that felt unguided, difficult, and unorganized. This makes an already stressful situation more difficult. Currently, there are no websites containing specific information necessary for the hundreds of military families who make this move each year. This type of area specific information could be extremely helpful to these families undergoing this specific PCS move in the through planning and execution of their move. The present content available is difficult to understand and is presented in a non-collaborative format, which again, leaves these families in the dark and out of luck. In order to conduct this research, I will need to request funds for the process. This begins with the costs incurred while constructing and then conducting the surveys as well as the expenses necessary to hold interviews following the surveys. I expect that the surveying process take 2-3 weeks to complete, and the interviewing process to take an additional 2-3 weeks. After the surveying and interviewing process, I plan to consolidate all of suggestions and input I receive into valuable information. Then I would be able to include this information into the website I created using the data collected. This should take no longer than 2 weeks for a total of 8 weeks to complete. Thank you for your time and consideration of my research on the issue I have presented. A positive review to continue on with this research study would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely,

Ashley Erickson

According to a claim made by the Military Times, each year, the U.S. military moves roughly 300,000 military members and their families, which equates to more than 20 percent of the entire active-duty force, from one duty station to another. (Tilghman) This means that the issues that arise from these families being unaware of the military moving process, which can be largely unique to each location, effects a lot of people each year. Just from my interaction with fellow military families that I know personally, I have found that there is a lot of confusion when it comes...
