Government 11.7 T.V. Morals Over the past few years television has lowered their morals. A few years ago they would have blurred out if someone flipped someone else off, but now they show the whole thing. Some of the words are no longer blurred out as well. I feel the the show's executive producers, directors, and the tv channels president and board determine what is right for the viewers to watch. I also feel like each household and family can control what their kids watch. Society as a whole determines what morals are right and wrong. The other night, Miley Cyrus, performed a very memorable performance on the
2013 Video Music Awards. She danced and dressed way too provocative to her song “We
Can’t Stop”. She also performed with Robin Thicke in his song “Blurred Lines”. The next day as I was watching the Today Show, they talked about the performance and said “It was too racy for morning television. If it is too inappropriate for morning talk show, why wasn’t it too inappropriate for the awards? Shortly after her performance tweets, vines, and comments were everywhere. The amount of feedback is just what her team wanted.
We are still talking about her days later and it gets her sing out there. The MTV’s VMAS was rated tv 14 but The Parents Television Council is saying “... falsely rating this program as appropriate for kids as young as 14. This is unacceptable."
Many of the viewers that think her performance was ok, state that her performance was a work of art and acceptable. Her parents need to, even though she is older than 18, need to talk to her and be better role models. As a society we need to stop idolizing her, watching her videos, tweeting her, buying her songs and more. We are just fueling the fire more and giving her and her team what they want, attention. As a society for how much we think something is wrong or disagree, we talk about it the publicise it a lot. I feel like society needs
