On his head lays a scruffy brownish, black hair cut. Miles’s hair isn’t long; it falls just above the middle of his forehead. Miles’s face is dappled with acne, probably from all the sweat plopping down his face during football. He wears the casual, athletic shorts, shirt, and sneakers. On a special occasion he throws
“A little Rip Blast. Helps psych you up before the game.” Zach’s words repeating themselves over and over in his head. Zach and Miles always have done everything together. He’s stuck on whether to take them because his best friend and some teammates are, or whether to stick to his dad’s rules. The next day, before the game, the same thought is racing through his head. Undecided and out of time, he goes to his bag and tosses the pills in. After he swipes the sweat off his forehead and hands, he joins Zach and his teammates as they get ready to go out. After their intimidating win, and Zach mentioning how the pills helped Miles after he had an outstanding game, Miles realized he didn’t need them. So when the team reached the locker room, Miles took the pills and flushed them down the toilet…... Not only did he deal with use of drugs amongst his friends, his head coach got sick so the assistant coach stepped up.
