College is much different from my high school in so many ways. In my high school we was always on the same routine. We had four periods a day and first period started at 7:45 and we was on a block schedule meaning our classes was an hour and thirty minutes long. In high school your parents were more involved in what go on in your daily life, whether you get in trouble in class or you get sick at lunch.…

Now that we have established that our supposed “greatest prime minster” was a horrendous racist I will go onto side negatives second argument which states that His failure to handle French and English relations makes him unfit to be ranked above all other prime ministers. In fact during John A. MacDonald’s time in power his inability to handle the relations left one of Macdonald’s political enemies dead, I am talking about Louis Riel. He was an activist that fought for the rights of the Metis people but Macdonald called for him to be hung because he could not compromise his values. This is especially shameful he’s compared to his successor Sir Wilfred Laurier who was able to expertly handle both the French and English. This was present when…

For many American immigrants, actually arriving in their new country is only half the battle; then begins the struggle to find a home, secure a job, and begin their lives all over again. American immigrants also struggle to achieve the balance of keeping their native culture alive, while adapting to their new country’s identity. This was especially hard for Harlem Renaissance writer Claude McKay, as he was born in Jamaica, strongly identified with African Americans, but wanted an American identity all at the same time. In addition to these inner struggles, American racial attitudes of the time also had a major impact on McKay, specifically the country’s opinions toward African Americans. Overall, McKay’s assimilation into American culture was heavily affected by his race.…

Growing up with this name was very typical, it wasn’t like my name was something unheard of, of crazily odd, it was just normal. Other kids complained about their names and how they didn’t like them or how they sounded weird, but I never had that problem. To me, Jackson Dean is just a name passed down from previous generations, I never knew the true meaning of it, or why my parents picked it. Although, my parents did not choose my name because if it’s definition, or background, it is still very interesting to find out the true meaning.…

The SBAC a brain-teasing, non-scoring test created to fail you, don’t you feel cheated? The should not be standardized test because the parents don’t want their kids taking the standardized test, it is a waste of time, and it cause stress for many kids. Parents don’t trust the people who have access to the SBAC test scores. Additionally kids take a high average of the day taking the test. As well as too much stress is building up on kids and damaging their self-esteem. The standardized test are well know for testing a child’s level of academic ability, but I trust my teacher’s opinion more than a computer’s, maybe a pen and paper is the way to go.…
