Middle School Football Argumentative Essay
Dear St. Amant middle School Football Team,

Football is a very fun sport that invalves tackling, pushing, and hitting. Most of the time football is fun just from playing ruff (tackling, pushing, hitting). Kids who play football are always to play games like bull in the ring and oklahoma drills which are very contact drills, and so is football. Now, coaches are thinking about having a limited number of hits in practice. But most players disagree with that statement because football is all about hitting. If they use limited number of hits, then they will take away the fun out of football.

They should not have limits on hitting because one reason is that football players become mentally tough because of getting hits and giving hits ( making them think that they can go to their maximum potential ). Changingthegameproject.com>rescue-y…..

this point of view makes sense because nfl.com said ‘’ The reworded rules porhibit a player from launging himself off the ground and using his helment to strike a player in a defenseless posture in the head or neck.’’ This shows that players can get hurt from hits. However if they start to baby the players then they will start to not put out full potential in practice and the game. Their for they should not have limits on hitting in

One rule that has been changed this season is when a player loses his helmet, the play is immediately whistled dead. And now during the field-goal the defense cannot position any player on the line directly across from the snapper, who is considered defenseless. While NFL is actually concerned of the players health risks there are other sports who don’t do much about the health risks. UFC is an american mixed martial arts sport. UFC allows kicks to the head. Being able to kick the opponent in the head is ridiculous. A fighter on the receiving end of a knockout has been concussed. A concussion will have a negative long term effect on a person’s health, yet we so often hear of a fighter being “okay” after being knocked out. The rules of this sport should be modified immediately because lives are at risk. It shouldn't matter if the “sprite” of the game is changed, the lives of the athlete matter…

Football consists of a team of talented, skilled individuals that display strength, power and speed to play the game. Without these traits, a player will certainly be a failure to the game and the team. It is a very rough form of entertainment that we all love to watch with our families and friends. It is rather ironic that although we do not promote players to hurt each other; in the game of football, we seem to send the opposite message that it’s alright to get hurt, nonetheless, a sport where players understand that in order to stand out amongst other players, the harder they exert effort into the game also increases their risk of sustaining unpredictable injuries.…

Rather than fines and later game suspensions, the NFL should enforce in game benching. This rule would force a player to sit out for the rest of the game if they gave an illegal hit. This would make coaches much wearier and force them to coach their players about legal hits. The NFL should also do more than just punishments of other players but they should speak with sports networks that often show these illegal hits in their top plays. Sportcenter on ESPN is an example that has a segment in their show called “SC Top 10”. Many time illegal hits have been shown on this top 10 because they are glorified by fans and considered jaw-dropping. The NFL has worked with these networks about fans that streak during games, so they should work with them on illegal hits. By doing so these hits won’t be given much attention and eventually lose…

Everyone who plays football, coaches football or watches football knows the brutal punishments each player sustains for every game in the National Football League. Ironically, this occupational hazard, which is rudimentary to the game of football, is understood, especially by the players. Most of them work hard during the season, as well as the off-season, to condition their bodies to absorb vicious hits inflicted by each other. Unfortunately, there is no way to condition a human body to take multiple blows to the head, even with a thick helmet on.…

“Pro football is like nuclear warfare. There are no winners, only survivors.” -Frank Gifford. Football is a full contact sport, so it is not supposed to be safe, and no one ever expected it to be safe. Recently the effects of countless head injuries endured by players many years ago had just started to surface. The NFL has started to attempt to make professional football as safe as they possibly can without ruining the game. The majority of the rules the NFL has in place are necessary when it comes to how the game is played and maintaining the safest environment on the football field for the players, however some of the other rules being added to the rulebook are arguably unnecessary and truthfully ridiculous. Players are more often than not…

In the concussion protocol there are eight sections on game day management of concussions, outlines for tests a player must pass in order to play, potential concussion signs/ symptoms, and the NFL sideline concussion assessment. (Management of concussions) With the more strict concussion protocol this could be significantly reduced. The concussion protocol will also prevent players from coming back before their concussion has completely gone away. Sports are an integral part of American culture. Throughout the year, friends and families will spend enormous amounts of time and money to gather together to eat, drink and cheer on their favorite teams. American football has been named the most watched sport in the nation and continues to grow in popularity. There is something about the thrill of watching your favorite team score touchdowns and win championship games that makes watching football a nationwide form of entertainment. Beyond all of the wins and losses however are the many injuries that often occur in every game. Broken arms, legs and shoulders are only minimal injuries compared to the, often over-looked, head injuries that happen more often than not. Everyone thinks the main causes of the recent incline of concussions in football today are because players are hitting too hard, yes and no. A concussion can become more severe if it isn’t noticed during the play it happened. It can become worse if the player isn’t tested for it and taken out of the game. Another thing that can cause concussions is when a defensive player launches his whole body towards the head of the offensive player with the ball and hit helmet to helmet. The force behind your body and the hit make a concussion at high percentage chance to occur. A hard hit can be made safe if you hit low, don’t launch your body, and wrap up the ball handler and drive your feet. Also, one more way to get a concussion is switching with someone on the field and not having your chin strap snapped on and getting hit or making the hit. That is not just dangerous but against the rules.…

The National Football League has tried to make waivers for the players to sign stating that they know, they could sustain concussions or any sort of blunt trauma. This action has also not been all too successful. The National Football League should take major precautions in the safety of their players be enforcing soft hits, and no head on hits to rule our brain…
