Middle school drug testing should be forced on schools,because some athletes could be taking steroids. If you get caught taking drugs,steroids, and special punishments should be made for the type of drug and person. The higher amount of drugs should equal a bigger punishment.They drug test for OPIOIDS and MARIJUANA.How they test is you pee in a little cup.There are two types of UDT testing.The first one is a screening test ,and the second one is confirmatory test.

Middle school drug testing should be used in every school across the us.Some kids could take steroids or supplements to be better at sports which would make it very unfair and very hard to beat them. About 1,084,000 or 0.5 percent of the adult population have used steroids.Some

    Reading this article raised many questions for me on the amount of influence athletes who use steroids have on the younger generation of athletes. What concerns me the most now is how many kids out there are currently using steroids because the surveys done in the article were done in 2006. So who knows how many more kids are using steroids because I believe the number has gone up in the past couple years. It is shocking to see kids, who are using steroids, only admit to using them when they were asked in the surveys, but not tell their parents, coaches or even friends. I know there would be a lot of consequences with admitting to using steroids, but as time passes, people are going to start to notice a change in your physical appearance and people are going to start to think weight lifting did not change your appearance so substantially. To think these kids are probably using steroids in their homes while their parents are not looking, it takes a lot of guts to be able to hide such a deep secret from their parents. If kids see professional athletes getting in trouble for using steroids, I would think they would realize it is not smart to use steroids themselves, but they do it anyway because they see how good those athletes are, so then they resort to steroids because it will make them a better athlete.     It seems that the use of steroids in sports should be allowed. According to Saculescu, Foddy, and Clayton the legalization of performance enhancing drugs in sports would be fairer and safer. One of the drugs used in sports, erythropoietin (EPO), is a growth hormone and found naturally in the body (Clyaton et. al). These drugs are also so advanced that they can actually mimic certain natural processes which make them harder to be detected. One of the biggest discussions on this subject is the topic of cheating. But as people have created sports, they also create the rules and decide what is classified as cheating. So if the use of steroids became legal it would no longer be considered cheating. Saculescu et al. believe that the use of steroids would level the playing field by making them less of a “genetic lottery”.
