Ashford and Lecroy chapter, lecture, and power point on Middle Adulthood explain that this is a time of personal reflection over one's life. Reflecting upon accomplishments, failures, opportunities, purpose, and meaning. Many adults will make changes, engage in activities desired, travel, become the desired person, and focus on career. This is the time period where there are noticeable changes in the physical body and appearances. Nutrition and eating properly become very important, increase in exercise and decrease in unhealthy food choices and portion size control become necessary. There is chronic disease risk. Regular checkups become important during this time period. The earlier the detection the better the treatment prognosis.
