Abstract
This case study talks about the advancement of Microsoft as a more socially responsible business. This new method of becoming more globally committed was a key to the success for the business. The new practices also gave them a positively recognized image while also being able to help out the refugees. They were also able to shape the definition of good CSR through their business practices.

Microsoft’s Partnership with UNHCR
In 1999, the Kosovo crisis was a global issue; Jean-Philippe Courtois was able to raise concern for this global issue. This caused a joint venture in between UNHCR and Microsoft. Microsoft was able to adapt to CSR and they made it their global mission to help out these refugees.

Is Partnership the answer?
UNHCR really needed the help of Microsoft’s technology software and hardware; this was in order to arrange and register refugees. Both parties formed this alliance for obvious reasons; they both needed to develop and survive.

Many companies fail to imply a good effective CSR to a business and this can have an overall effect on the company’s process. CSR is basically for a company to have an overall positive impact on the environment, consumers, employees, stakeholders and communities. I will be discussing and implying sources and concept to my chosen company Primark and discuss where they failed to add CSR to their company. A good use of CSR in a company can be the fulfilment of social or environmental goals, as opposed to a business that tries to achieve its financial goals while minimizing any negative impact on society or the environment. These businesses are called Social Enterprises.…

I have tried to outline the specific challenges each of the MSF projects encounters as I discussed each country. For these human rights we take for…

The history of Microsoft is a textbook case of the power of broad vision. In the early days, Microsoft 's MS-DOS competed head to head with IBM 's OS/2. Where IBM was myopically fixated on large customers as the only part of the market, Microsoft saw the market more broadly as every person in the world. This allowed them to take market share and become the monolithic corporation they are today by making their operating systems cheaply available to everyone. This was an early example of their value creation, since that time they have taken to a different method, but they still continue to create value for their customers.…
