Features and Benefits of Microsoft 365 One the key initiatives of the Columbus Metropolitan Library is to refresh its aging technology infrastructure and innovation to better serve the community (Snyder, 2013). As a means to address this initiative, CML should consider making changes to its email server. The incumbent system of Novell is out-of-date and costly to operate. Therefore, the library should implement Microsoft Exchange to obtain lower operational, licensing, and recurring costs while attaining a more versatile and secure technology infrastructure (Snyder, 2013). In implementing the Microsoft 365 program, it offers an email system with important features, such as 25GB mail box and remote Office Web applications (Snyder, 2013). Additionally, the new IT system is versatile and compatible with PC, Mac, Windows Phone, iPhone, Android, and Blackberry (Snyder, 2013). Furthermore, the Microsoft organization …show more content…
These benefits include an increase in productivity and product quality, reduction of facility usage costs, and a reduction in the IT staff. The new software enables the library to achieve its mission in the most effective possible manner. The feature of remote access allows employees the flexibility to work within their home or anywhere with an internet connection. In utilizing this feature, it reduces the cost of facility usage. Additionally, the new system streamlines the processes and provides customers with the best available tools. In using the effortless program, it minimizes the IT staff, which decreases the annual budget for the library. The innovative and modern Microsoft technology assists CML in completing projects in a timely fashion because the Microsoft organization assures the function of their product.
