Michael Jordan Symbolism
From my point of view there will always be artifacts, materials, symbols and art pieces that will last forever in terms of their value and meaning. Multiple examples such as the Egyptian pyramids, the Eiffel tower, the magnificent art pieces of Michelangelo, the man on the moon are a series of events or pieces that have a tremendous signification, because of their cultural value, scientific discovery or improvement or even controversial meaning. Moreover, the Selection of timeless events or unforgettable products from the entertainment industry of the 90’s make me reason about other timeless and symbolic artifacts from other decades. Furthermore, I researched about art of the 90’s and encountered with more liberal expressions and modern illustration with what people can disgust. At the end, I opine that Michael Jordan’s symbol can be one of timeless things of the 90’s, because his influence created an enormous transformation and increased popularity in the basketball world. His influence in this sport overvalued him that when people are asked about basketball some of them without any knowledge about it mention Michael Jordan. Victories and individual skills were the factors that increased his value but what it is taken into account here is not his performance, is the symbolic power he became for this sport, and his name is recognized all around the world that even people do not watch basketball identify him. Michael Jordan as role model has been exceptional, many athletes attempt to train like him and he is a symbol of motivation for sports’ world, his achievements were s outstanding, that he increased the popularity of basketball in United States and encouraged new people to watch this sport. His symbolic value increased when Nike decided to sponsor him by releasing the Jordan’s shoes, one of the most famous shoes models ever produced, which are sold out all the time and their price is expensive but people still buy
