For as long as man has known about Cats and mice, the two creatures have never gotten along. I know that these creatures do not get along because every Saturday morning I used to wake up and watch Tom and Jerry. After reading the book of mice and man and watch the movie I preferred reading the book than watching the movie. In the movie it didn’t explain and describe ever seen that happen in the book.Watching the movie it doesn't really show the audience what the author meant to show to his readers. Even thought the movie was good it didn't show exact description of the character and the had a different setting. There are major different between the book and movie like, characters are portrayed, scenes and Lennie’s state of mind.…

Loneliness is a basic part of human life. Every one becomes lonely ones in a while but in Steinbeck’s novella “Of Mice and Men”, he illustrates the loneliness of ranch life and shows how people are driven to try finding friendship in order to escape from loneliness. He uses names and words such as a town near the ranch called “Soledad”. He makes it clear that all the men on the ranch are lonely, with particular people lonelier than others. I think all the people living in the ranch are lonely. This proves this where Steinbeck describes the bunk house where all the workers sleep. “Over each bunk there was nailed and apple box with the opening forward so that it made two shelves for personal belongings of the occupant of the bunk.” The way Steinbeck’s describes the bunkhouse indicates their lonely lives.…

Steinbeck uses poetic language to build the imagery of the opening scene of the farm. Steinbeck uses descriptive language to portray to the reader an almost dreamlike image of the settings. For example, instead of brief sentences, he uses long sentences that have slow and lethargic feel. The beautiful, ideal scenery is a backdrop to the relationship between George, Lennie and the other workers on the farm. The language Steinbeck uses in the opening scene is in simple contrast to the dialogue between the workers. Steinbeck tries to create this contrast between the background and the interactions between characters to highlight the roughness that exists on the farm. Through his description of “Golden Foothill slopes”, a river that “runs deep and green” and “sycamores with mottled, white, recumbent limbs”, Steinbeck is showing the natural beauty of the setting. The dialogues between Lennie and George uses swear words, as George tells Lennie “Jesus Christ, you’re a crazy bastard!” Through this contrast, Steinbeck also provides a blunt backdrop to the violent language and feelings that characters like George have due to the time fame of the novella.…
