Last August 23, 2012, Thursday, We, the 4th year students of Bs in Accounting Technology in UM Panabo Campus under the subject of Management 15 with the description “Production and Operation Management” had an in- plant trip in Davao City, mainly in Holcim (Philippines) Inc. and Coca- cola Bottlers Philippines, Inc., as a requirements to this subject and this was under the advisory of Prof. Neri J. Gumban. Our first trip was in the Holcim (Philippines) Inc. - Davao Plant located at Brgy. Ilang, Davao City. But before we had a tour inside their establishment, they gave us first an orientation with regards to their company’s background, safety rules and of course to their production. With this, we acquired a lot of information and we found out that Holcim is one of the leading suppliers of cement company in the Philippines and they operates four (4) plants loc ated in La Union, Bulacan, Davao and Lugait. Holcim involved in the manufacture, sale and distribution of cement and ready mix concrete. They are committed to managing resources responsibly and working with communities to develop sustainable options for their future. Holcim mission is to be one of the most admired companies in the Philippines and in global Holcim group and their vision is to provide foundations for society’s future and be a workplace of “collective mindfulness”, where everyone considers the safety aspects of all people and all jobs. Moreover, Holcim has its expression of experience and obligation towards to their customers and partners. Their values include strength, performance and passion. Strength, they build strong relationships and strive for sustainable growth. They act responsibly and with integrity. Performance, they demand excellence from their selves and provide sustainable value to their stakeholders and take pride in performing well and recognize and celebrate success.
